not Peurto Rico 999, which actually is not a country.... it is an unincorporated territory of the United States.
Presumably Cuba doesn't count because its in the Caribbean not Central America. I'll go for Costa Rica because of the large number of American retirees who live there.
Only Mexico and Belize left......... Most countries have national animals, often deeply unimaginative birds of prey or big cats. Some have mythical ones dragons etc, North Korea has the chollima, a Pegasus like creature claimed to be real. Others have national creatures for every type of beast - Mexico's national arthropod is the grasshopper. Which country has the humble perch as its national fish?
