I would be very disappointed in Spurs if they did so. It is definitely legal, and affects you for about 30 seconds before you return to normal, as others have said, he'd do more damage to himself with a pint of beer or a cigarette. The media reaction is ludicrous and clearly just shows their ridiculous attitude to anything they consider to be 'unusual' behaviour, it's this sort of reaction which stops the country from being able to have a sensible discussion about drugs, legal or illegal.
I didn't know about the effects, so with new knowledge and hindsight, it's probably best I withdraw my original thoughts. However, the players do have it written into their contracts that they are committed to a certain number of positive media reports/community work reports per month. Even with my new found knowledge on this matter, I doubt the club will view this as a positive media report.
Aren't footballers pillocks? More money than sense. And Walker's from Yorkshire too, isn't he? Tha's a daft apath lad. Tha brain's addled.
That's a very good point, I hadn't have thought of it like that. Without wanting to excuse him I still think it's understandable. It sounds like the club were selling it, which is a weird quirk of it. Yes he should check these things for himself but he was cutting loose in the off-season and probably had a few drinks so the idea that the club would be selling something dodgy might have seemed a remote possibility to him. As I've said the main problem I have is with the reporting of it. Journalists are supposed to do their research but other than Googling the worst case scenarios they appear to have done very little. It's very insincere reporting too, if they're that outraged and concerned then they'd be reporting the wider use of it. Anyway it'll blow over unless Walker does something stupid again or the DM have got more photos they're planning on gradually releasing across the season.
Some very good points raised, my OP was on the understanding he was inhaling a balloon with the voice altering stuff, I had no idea balloons were for sale specifically containing another gas. However, this stuff N2O is used in anaesthesia medically today and has been for over a century, so how the jump to hippy crack is made is beyond me! With this and other views here, I have to now say Kyle's probably been a bit of a pillock, agreeing to do it is one thing, but in public??? and supports my previous description of him as a really nice lad...but thick as ****! also explaining some of his decisions on the pitch.
I've never been able to understand why people take drugs anyway(not prescription,of course). They must have a lot of mental problems I would believe......like being an Arsenal supporter!!!!!
no one has claimed Stevie wonder is a drug addict, and he's has used it in his act for years,so he can sound like he did in his Little Stevie Wonder years
You can be sure that the tabloids have sought the opinion of doctors and government to get a quote or interview to say how dangerous it is. The lack of a serious weighty opinion is quite telling, but you are only going to hear anything that is against the practice. They are not going to report anyone who says "it is legal by the way" or "there is no medical evidence to suggest harm". Sometimes what is not reported is important.
He sure is. I'm starting to think Dembele's a bit thick too, AVB keeps calling him over for chats and he doesn't seem to think ahead ever, he never goes past a player and then lays it off instantly. Kyle on the otherhand has started the season well though so, he spent most of last season floating around the pitch like a balloon.
You cannot train or coach intelligence, at the end of the day he has to make decisions by himself. As far as Dembele being a thicko, not sure about that, but he does strike me as quiet and unassertive, and lacking the self belief to do something daring, (bit of a joke considering our motto!) I think his head goes if the play opens up for him, always looks for an option rather than take responsibility. When you then look at coaches that are motivators and get the best from players with the arm round approach, Harry is up there with the best. If he wasn't able to convince MD of his ability than I struggle to think who will, AVB does not strike me as this type, so I don't see MD developing under him, and he has to have more end product. I know he's easy on the eye with his close control to get himself into good positions, but the wastefulness from there is just so damn frustrating, and I don't mean wasteful in a misplaced pass, wasteful of a situation where for a couple of seconds your opponents are turning back toward their own goal on the back foot. He can take two players out of the game, then lets them re-group by going sideways instead of pressing forward further, and leaving them behind. Scott Parker with skill!
The media have made him look like a junkie which is a joke but I think as a professional sportsman, being seen taking any form drug - legal or illegal - isn't the best of impressions to give off to those. For me personally though, I couldn't give a toss if he was a cocaine snorting, heroin injecting alcoholic, as long as he does the business on the pitch that's all I care about. What he does in his personal life is of no concern to me.
I'd be amazed, I think the methods to use either are far too complicated for him! ...you could just see him using a plastic teaspoon!
Him doing it in public is no different to the tons of other people who do this at clubs. Plenty of DJ's bring it along and clubs often sell it themselves. It's legal and not a particularly dangerous substance. Why is it fine for him to be seen with a beer but not a balloon thats going to give him a short head rush? I don't think it's stupid at all, i think it's the medias reaction that is ridiculous. Shows how out of touch the reporters are with the real world.
People take drugs for all sorts of reasons, same as with drink or cigarettes. Some people choose non-prescription substances for the exact same reasons someone might take prescription pills. Prescription pills can also be terrible for you and a lot of them are highly addictive. Drugs are drugs regardless of the label you give them "legal" "illegal""prescription" etc... It sounds to me like you just don't know anything about drugs, not that you don't understand why people take them!
mmmm prescription diazepam. They were a bit nice. Housewife's favourite, for a good reason. I felt I could live out my days on them. Not a care in the world. Well worth the £7.85 a week, or whatever it was back then. When I was better, my doctor stopped prescribing them. Shame, because they were a bit nice. mmmmm Much better than all the illegal ones, which I haven't done in years, except one. Don't drink either. They're all a bit **** in the long run.
I smoke cannabis every now and then, not through addiction, mainly because it's a good muscle relaxer and relieves a bit/ lot of pain though every now and then I'll take it just because I want one. I play football and go to the gym fairly regularly and therefore tend to either pick up knocks or strain a muscle. One joint and the pain near enough goes. I've never understood why cannabis is illegal to be honest, it's no worse than a pint, if I have 8 pints I'm as rowdy as anything, after 3 or 4 joints, I'm asleep I've taken a form of speed once, safe to say never again. Horrible feeling, actually felt my heart going 10x faster which was really scary and felt a sense of paranoia with it too. **** knows why people would want to take that on a regular basis, I was stupid to take it the once.
