Are you suggesting that a striker who has played in Serie A for two seasons won't know how to deal with niggly defences?

Not at all, I'm suggesting that he'll be targeted by a couple of numpties that don't speak his language and if he does have a short fuse, then it will be tested on Sunday.

I would argue that getting sent off 3 times in 49 appearances shows that he didn't cope particularly well with Italian niggly defences

EDIT - Or 5 in 58 if you include his time at Fiorentina

Boruc
Chambers Fonte Lovren Clyne
Wanyama Morgan
Osvadlo gaston shaw
Lambert

Just as an experiment I would like to see shaw have a go from here his pace would be a certain test for their defenders.

No need, Shaw is trouble for the defenders anyway with the style we play.

-----------Boruc------------
Clyne--Fonte---Lovren--Shaw
--Wanyama----Schneiderlin--
Lallana---Gaston---Rodriguez
---------Osvaldo-----------

Count me in the "don't overwork Rickie" boat. There's a very good chance that he gets 90 minutes in a very tough contest in Ukraine, and I'd rather see him coming in as an impact sub for this one. If Schneiderlin is still not 100%, substitute Cork. Think that this is a game for two of that trio in central midfield rather than JWP, because winning second balls will be paramount.

You mean he should be... we just need to get him to push on rather than stop level with our midfield, then he'd be a real problem for them. He got a pen at WBA so I don't know why he doesn't push on more.

I think with Clyne at left back he can have a real go ,as you say against WBA he got the pen by running at them and not stopping and worry about getting back.

Would definitely play Lallana and Cork. Both well rested. Against West Ham we will need all the energy we can muster. Playing two internationals plus the travelling has to be draining.

Good poin t but Tuesday to Sunday should be long enough.

To be honest I'd play them both regardless. As a team we definitely are better with Cork playing than when he's not playing. Regardless of how good the players are that replace him we simply function better with him there.

Would have Chambers ahead of Clyne for this one due to extra height and heading ability. JWP will surely play, they do all the training with him on set pieces.

Boruc
Chambers Yoshida Lovren Shaw
Wanyama Schneiderlin
JWP Lallana Gaston
Osvaldo

Subs: Davis, Clyne, Fonte, Cork, Davis, Rodriguez, Lambert.

Quite wanted to find a spot for Tadanari Lee (think he is excellent) - but think his role will be similar to the JRod role...

I think it's unlikely that Carroll will start, which makes it likely that Maiga will start up front, and I can't see West Ham throwing a lot of long balls up to him, so I don't think we'll see the hoofing team we expect. I expect they'll try to counter with pace, which makes it very important that Clyne and Shaw both play.

Has the game sold out yet? If not, what's the excuse this time? Rain expected? Moon in the wrong phase?

I'm normally right behind you on this CBK, however I have a little empathy for people who can't be arsed to watch Fat Sam's garbage. I'll be there, but I've started taking the pills now, in a brave attempt to remain calm on the day.

You're beginning to sound like me on Ramirez ......

I think you and I should find a pub and have a right old whinge!
