How come Caterham earned £30m from FOM and Marussia £6m? I didn't think the gulf in prize money was that big. Also rather shows the financial state of F1 - check out the amount of external investment needed even at the top just to break even.
The top teams earn more from FOM than the lower teams have to survive on for an entire season.... and then they scratch their heads as to how to level the playing field. Not exactly rocket science is it?
Mercedes, lotus, sauber, and force India are spending more money than marussia and caterham yet making less profit. Also it's clear marussia and caterham will never close the gap with the budget they have mainly due to the massive gulf in FOM prize money
Since theres no race thread (and I'll make one tonight if needed) the forecast is currently for thunder storms on Saturday.
Hmm, not sure this will look as good as Abu Dhabi or Singapore, both those venues have surrounding buildings/marina/fancy coloured hotel that make the race "pop" more at night, the Bahrain GP is in the middle of a desert, not sure how good that will look at night?
oh but they do have the funky palm trees with the red strip lights around them which I want in my garden...
Pretty meaningless, but I quite liked it: Raikkonen is very similar to the dutch, "Rij-kunnen", which translates as "can drive". Seems apt.
