I'm still trying to work out if its for real, something just about everyone has ad a go at...making your voice go silly by inhaling a bit of gas from a balloon. Now its classed as a legal high with health risks...so's breathing air in Central London! Its laughing gas ffs, and he's being portrayed as a druggie...has the world gone mad here? hippy crack!?, first time I've heard it called that aswell. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/kyle-walker-apologises-twitter-after-2261270
The press are loving the "hippy crack" line. It's utter nonsense, plenty of players have been caught smoking before and there was no real outrage. That's not even to mention alcohol abuse killing far more people every year yet is there the same faux outrage from the media when a player is out on the lash? No, they're "celebrating" or "cutting loose". I've read a couple of the articles that have mentioned what disasterous things could happen when you have "balloons" but I've yet to see any stats produced in the article which is usually a strong hint that the stats aren't all that shocking. If journalists were under as much scrutiny as they give the players I'm sure we'd find much worse secrets from those hypocrites. Ah well, it'll all blow over soon enough, he's apologised so there's nothing left to talk about. The press only did it to undermine the England team before a crucial game, which is what really should be under the microscope.
I first had hippy crack as a child. Groomed by a man in a white coat, he gained my trust before eventually placing a mask over my face and forcing me to breath in. The bloody procedure he then performing made me tense and my fear of chairs and men in white coats remains today. Before that point in my life, I was a normal, fully-toothed child. It was only later that I found out that breathing an oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen mix was my gateway to this cruel vice. My progression to an oxygen and nitrogen mix, forced on me by a so-called medical professional, was inevitable. My life has gone down hill since then. I cannot believe this is legal in the modern world. ----- If they call this a legal high, it shows their stupidity. You get just as 'high' from holding your breath for 60 seconds.
Haha, not quite but part of it is that you're essentially breathing in carbon dioxide with the laughing gas. Maybe they'll run a story about how children and women in labour are supplied with this "hippy crack" by these so called professionals, which is funded by the NHS Get this deadly drug banned, or at least get this footballer sacked and shamed for legally buying the thing!
I'm gobsmacked and I feel sorry for Kyle for having to even consider an apology let alone make one, if he'd done it at a kids party to make them laugh instead of a nightclub would he be made to apologise for that?
Roy Hodgson in lethal drug scandal! Sources close to the England manager claim that he took the potentially deadly drug paracetemol, sometimes known on the street as "kill, whore, AIDS *****", to relieve him of "a bit of a head ache". Para-acetylaminophenol is legally sold in most pharmacies but Hodgson's casual use of the lethal drug is likely to lead to questions over whether he is capable of continuing to hold such a high position. We contacted Roy for a response to the allegations and he responded "are you ****ing kidding me, it's a ****ing headache tablet, you moron", possibly whilst under the influence of the said drug. Apart from the fact that I'm assuming Roy has taken a headache tablet and his quote is made up, that's pretty much a legit article. The only trouble is everyone knows what paracetemol is and knows it's moronic to describe it as a "lethal drug" even if it's technically correct.
It's not the balloons that give you squeeky voice, Notso To be fair, getting high at a kids party is probably worse, no matter how weak and short term the high is
Thats my point YV, when did this practice (a silly one I agree) become 'getting high'? I've not noticed queue's of clubbers outside card shops and party suppliers buying every balloon in sight.
The balloons you're thinking of contain helium (actually air with a little bit of helium). It's the one that gives you a squeeky voice. The balloon Walker was sucking on contained nitrous oxide (laughing gas). The high is not really a high at all. It doesn't even make some people giggle. Blow up 20 balloons with your own breath and the head-high you feel is similar to laughing gas.
Poisoning your body with alcohol or cigarettes - OK. Substances that if discovered today might well be illegal. Sucking down a bit of nitrous oxide makes you a drug user. Typical media overeaction. Certain things that are viewed as worse even when the outcome is the same. Killing poeple by blowing them up, shooting them or generally by disease/starvation caused by war = no reaction / killing people by chemical weapons = we must attack them. Never understood why there are 'worse' ways to be killed, since the result is the same! Sorry if you don't see any parallel there, just one of those other stories that has been bothering me recently.
I laugh. I'll laugh even more if Walker scores a hatrick tomorrow and laughing gas and balloons are banned for being a performance enhancing drugs. "He floats another one over the keeper!!!"
Laughing gas has recently been a bit on trend amongst ravers/clubbers. Some DJ's i know bring along a load of canisters to sell at there gigs. It's the shortest lived "high" you can imagine, similar to having a quick sniff of poppers, a hit on some salvia or a bump of snuff. Not the same type of high as those things but similarly short lived. It's a bit of a laugh, probably a bit silly to do, but ultimately not the most harmful substance thats going into the bodies of the people taking it on a night out. The alcohol they're drinking, the cigarettes they're smoking, the fast food they're eating and any powder that might be going around are all far worse! I find it hilarious that it's being compared to crack as well, i've been around crack smokers and i've tried balloons and i can asure you there is nothing similar about the experiences at all! Completely blown out of proportion by the media looking for a story - he shouldn't have even apologised!
