  1. The only point that you have proven is that you have no appreciation for good humour.

Is the quote of 4 words that don't in any way sum up my point of view, the entirety of my argument? Well clearly not. The 3 pargraph post that i made was the sum of my argument. What a stupid response.

The fact that instead of responding to the point of the post you decided to get upset about me using the word "peanut" (shock, horror) shows you realised what bollocks you where talking :p

As far as resorting to correcting my grammer/spelling - bravo, you have corrected two spellings on a football forum, you must be incredibly pleased with yourself :)

My suggestion that i would help educate you was on a footballing matter, not the english language. This is a football forum and not a linguistics forum right? Or have i taken a wrong turn somewhere?

You came out with some nonsense about Ozil being no better than Eriksen or Lamela and then said the reason for this was that Ozil has no premiership experience - if you can't see what is wrong with that logic then i give up wasting my time posting to you :) (hint hint: neither Lamela or Eriksen has premiership experience either!).

You where talking nonsense and when you where called up on it start going on about getting me banned. Do you just take issue with any Arsenal fan who posts on your board? Despite having plenty of posters on the Tottenham forum who disagree with what i say i always tend to get a decent debate out of spurs fans. Your a let down to your fellow fans and i can't for a moment believe the mods over here just cave in and ban whoever you whinge about...

  6. Yes, I believe those 4 little words do sum up your argument. Sure, you go into a whole load of pointless exposition beforehand, but the insult sums up your argument. You wrote what you did in order to insult me, there was no other point to your posting on this thread.

No, that was merely the "set up" for your insult.

By the way, you spelled "paragraph" wrong.

    There you go again!
    <doh>

How do you know I was "upset." Is it possible that I was feigning a state of mind for the purposes of banter?

In any event, whether I am upset or not ought not to excuse your levels of personal abuse.

May I also add, that likening a man of good years to a "peanut" is considered, in some cultures, to be the highest of insults. Would you tell a Sheikh that he was "a flea on the back of a camel," for example, and expect him to merely laugh it off?

    There you go, again!

Oh, dear! Yet more insults! You're developing quite a chip on that shoulder of yours, aren't you!

Oh, and by the way it's "grammar."

Ordinarily, I would not have corrected your appalling spelling and grammar, but as you professed an intention to "educate" me, I thought it best to disabuse you of the notion that you are in any position to do so. I believe it best that we understand each other from the very start.

I understand fully what you meant. However, my point is that someone who cannot even grasp the merest essentials of the English language probably lacks the levels of intelligence and knowledge that is likely to be of any use to me.

By the way, it's "English" not "english."

Yes, you have. You accidentally wandered into a bit of banter on the Spurs board with a plum stuck up your arse. If you want to engage in stiff, non-humorous, asinine and turgid debate your best bet is to stay on the Gooners' board.

So, if I refuse to hold the exact same opinion as you, it's nonsense?

That is incorrect. I was merely making the obvious point that none of these players - neither Lamela, Eriksen, nor Ozil - has any Prem experience, so it is impossible to say which of them is best, at the moment. English footballing history is littered with many so-called "world class" foreign players who come over here and flopped. Perhaps Ozil will be one of them?

Sorry? Did you mean to write "...when you were called up..." ?

No, only the ones who lack the decency and humility to engage me in good argument without the need to continually insult me. My grandmother always used to say that when a man resorts to insults he has lost both the argument and his dignity.

Whilst I do not insist that those who debate with me must demonstrate at least some basic literacy skills, I am very much of the opinion that it benefits every man to apply himself in that endeavour.

That's "you're" and not "your" (in the context that you have employed that word).

I was hoping that you would be able to conclude your post without feeling the need to resort to yet another cheap insult, but I cannot pretend that I am overly surprised that you disappointed me.

Ah! Now we get to the entire point of your little rant! You feel stung that some of your Gooner playmates are no longer permitted to freely abuse this board, and so you have taken it upon yourself to come over here and dish out a little bit of retribution!

I think that post backs up my initial implication that your a peanut.

Your pedantry knows no bounds does it? And i won't even get started on the futility of correcting spelling and grammar on an internet forum for football fans.

My points are clearly laid out and easy to read and i'll leave it up to your fellow fans to make of it what they will. Your not worth the effort it takes to try and have a normal debate/conversation that comes freely to other posters. You made a bold claim and when questioned on it came up with a non-logical explanation for your view. You realised what you had said was nonsense and so have taken it upon yourself to comb over my posts in desperate search for any errors you can pick out. It's also interesting that you avoid the obvious points being raised in most posts and instead pick quotes of a few words or individual sentences taken out of context and somehow think your actually having a civilized debate - it's pretty funny.

If you've been emotional effected by being called a peanut i can maybe help you find a hotline that can help you? Personally i think by using a word which only the most emo of posters could take as a proper insult i was avoiding using worse language which a lot of other posters resort to.

As for your last sentence - you clearly have a chip on your shoulder about previous encounters with Arsenal fans. It's a shame that you feel the need to act that way tbh as like i said before, i am able to have pretty good discussions with a lot of rival fans and think i'm probably one of the more sensible posters who visit other fans boards. There is no retribution, this isn't another chapter in your great quest against the Gooners. It was just me replying to what i deemed an extreme view to hold and one worth challenging i.e. the notion that Ozil is no better than Eriksen or Lamela.

Watch out, you mis-spelled Doughnut and HIAG is on the war path :p

I vote for Doughnut being more insulting as they are squishy, messy and go stale quickly. Whereas a peanut is high in energy and if they are dry roasted quite possibly the nicest savoury snack food around!

Oooooh i see what you mean by americanising - on further inspection Donut has been a shortened version of the word first appearing in the 1800's but only gaining popularty late in the 20th century with the arrival of the brand name Dunkin' Donuts in America.

So Donut isn't the actual dictionary spelling of Doughnut even in America but through marketing of a big brand name it is now an accepted and used variation of the word in the US.

    Very interesting!

  11. "...you're a peanut."

I'm sorry, but I cannot count it an insult unless you get the spelling and grammar correct.

Indeed, i thought "donut" was the american version. I went with that as i didn't know whether to you doughnut or doughnought (which seems to be dead/unused)

Donut is far too simple for the english language, not nearly enough unneeded letters clogging up the word :p
