Our WC dreams are over

So it was with great expectation that Peru faced Uruguay on Friday night, a win would have put us in a great position to qualify for Brazil. Peru totally dominated the opening 40 mins with 2 clear cut chances which they failed to convert, Uruguay hadn't had a shot on or off target! Then that rat face Suaraz wriggled inside the byline and was caught on his heel with the faintest of touches and went down as if he'd been shot, gets up and coolly converts. 42nd min and Suarez is rolling around again in the middle of the park, Yotun inexplicably rolls the ball towards Suarez, yes rolls it, all hell breaks lose, fisticuffs, barging and Yotun is sent off. Peru now have a mountain to climb. Uruguay sit back 2nd half and Suarez scores again with a sweet shot from the edge of the area into the top cornet off the underside of the bar, game over. 82nd minute and hope springs eternal as Farfan curls in a beauty of a free kick, but it is not to be, Uruguay defend well and hold out. At the final whistle a fan runs on the pitch and tries to attack the reg, Farfan is inconsolable, Guerrero is taken to hospital after the head injury he suffered first half from a clear elbow that should have seen a red card finally takes its toll. 32 years of hurt become 36. Next time will be harder still with Brazil back in the qualies. Come on England!

 

its a tough section to qualify from, Uruguay are a small country but hard to beat

Hiya Cerny...actually what I was attempting was not sarcasm it was an attempt at irony.

I agree humour is worthless if you do not understand it (so with your lack of a sense of humour you are entitled to say that).....but my attempt at irony was not fueled by alcohol (sober as the day is long)...is your attempt at rudeness driven by alcohol then!

 

Suarez really is someone the game could do without, no matter how good he is.
