the signing of Ozil gives me the same feeling and buzz as when we signed Begkamp. this is a massive move forward and changes our status from club willing to sell our best players to a club that can compete in terms of wages and transfer fees. we can now attract the best players because we have - long term manager who is respected, stable board/owner, new stadium, history, champions league, top 4 status.
so lets get behind the team and look forward. the detractors are just jealous of our new status

Wrong on all counts.

Wrong on all counts.

what a very thoughtful response !

as you are not me how do you know what the feeling i had when i saw the news of Ozils signing ?

can you please take the time to explain why i am "wrong on all counts". or is that the extent of your debating skills.

it must be lonely in your "world of enemies" so try to get out more and get a life.

i know i am a newbie on this forum but i am not a newbie in my love of Arsenal.

OK, i disagree with you because:

1. Our manager is still a buffoon
2. our board are useless
3. Top 4 doesn't mean a thing, it's all about money
4. Since when does a player join because of a new stadium?

New members are pointless. They post once and then vanish, no point being nice to them.

Maybe they vanish after you reply! We shall have to make sure someone else gets in there first! All of us where new posters at some point posting our first one or two posts. Be nice.

Ozil's pass completion rate tonight was 99% <yikes> We're getting him at a good time methinks.

seems to have good strength to hold players off whilst on the ball. i heard comments that he's too lightweight for the prem (similar to comments about many of our previous signings) but on that showing seems like he'll be fine on that account.

No way is he light weight. What was apparent in the vid was his movement on and off the ball. He is consistently getting himself into good positions for attack. As well as playing as a main creative dynamo, he could quite easily play as a second striker just behind our main CF. He will make our front three more dynamic with his constant passing and moving. We will become a difficult side to defend against. Ozil better get prepared as there will be a lot of miss-timed tackles (including intentional) against him.

are you actually an arsenal fan ? its seems you are not very well thought of by other forum members so perhaps you are a closet Spurs fan !

i will respond - take the time to read carefully before you reply with more insightful and meaningful comments.

1 he is not a buffoon - he has produced some great players/teams that played beautiful football - i remember the "boring boring" days. if he was a buffoon why is he wanted by other clubs/countries to be their manager. he could walk into any job at any other club but has stayed loyal to us.

2 the board arent useless - they have stuck to a strict financial game plan to get us to where we are today, to be ready for Financial Fair Play. we are solvent, we now have money in the bank to spend on players, and we can afford their wages from our profits. we could be like Chelsea and Mancity and spend money we dont have/earn but what is the point in that. look at the money Liverpool have spent in the last 5 years and where has it got them 7th or 8th in the Prem.

3 being in the top 4 is better than not being in it. every team in the Prem would swap their position for ours as it brings in the money, and attracts the top players.

4 the new stadium means that we dont have to invest in a new stadium, unlike other teams. Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool all have that ahead of them if the genuinely want to increase their matchday earnings. when financial fair play is actually here we are in a very strong position compared to others in the Prem as we have done the hard part already by getting the stadium in place. and yes players will join us because we have a new stadium as they will know that all future spending/investment is on players/wages !!
