PGF,I have scoured Knackered's post and nowhere does he call Phil,or anyone else,a bigot. Perhaps you should revisit it,clear your thoughts a bit. Consequently your post to me,No.115, is simply erroneous in it's presumption. Incidentally,Phil dismissed the entire German race out of hand,Knackered was merely pointing out the error of such a dire point of view,and I agreed with him. Clearly those two opinions are a problem for you,if so,then it's your problem,not mine. Presumably,he dismisses the Spaniards,the Portuguese,the Dutch,the Scandinavians,the Italians,the Belgians,and a whole plethora of other countries,including the one you and I live in,based on such blinkered beliefs.

I think the conclusion would be to keep the status quo, we have 4 different countries all unique and all deserving of equal respect

I've got the cricket on the telly. When the teams came out they were waving English flags and not Union flags. So what's that all about then? I thought it was supposed to be the England and Wales cricket board and why are they paying in red if they're England. Anyone ?

I have been thinking about this whole debate. I don't define myself at all by my country of origin and therefore am not particularly patriotic although I do support England in sport. When I hear how passionate others feel about their nationality I think I feel jealous. Also I do not like to see places described as $hit holes. People who live in lovely areas of The world should appreciate what they have rather than denigrate others. You may think Peterborough is a horrible place to live but my life & friends are here & I have a very happy life. Why should I be judged for that?
We ain't saying that Peterborough is a ****hole, the whole of England is On a serious note though Minxy you are spot on, it's the people that make the area, not the appearance of the area. We should be greatful that we are not living in worse off conditions such as the favelas in Brazil for example
