Caron, not agreeing or disagreeing with ya but you asked Diddy to say what Allam's plans are. But you made a statement about the Shane Long deal as if you was in the know and I quote ''he's already demonstrated that he's not prepared to do this with the Shane Long debacle of misdealing, lies and cheap negotiating tactics''. Could you please state where you get your knowledge too? Or are you going by the WBA statement which has been debating on here? Not having a go at Diddy either, but the normal fan in the street don't know what's going on behind the scenes so how can we make statements and comments we know sod all about?
This was NOT meant to be another thread about the Allams downfalls as such, but more a would you want a person like owned Pompey, or Abramovich who might throw it away at a moments notice or the Allams who have made some mistakes, but not what it was meant to be about, but appear go be trying to run the club in a realistic manner.
Wimbledon are in Wimbledon and are currently fourth in League Two. MK Dons are in Milton Keynes, they're in League Two and are currently the least respected club in English football. All hail fan power, it's what football is really about.
Rover. Some of us are privy to certain info but can't say why or where from, though I fully acknowledge that anyone can (and indeed many do). Unfortunately, others - eg the delightfully cynically minded charon - seem quite content to shout the odds about AA/EA being incompetent/corrupt (which is basically what they're saying) yet fail to produce any evidence of any description that shows that a) they're spurious claims are right b) AA/EA, whilst admittedly having gone about certain things in a way which has wound some people up, haven't at all times done what they have done with the best interests of the club at heart.
Charon has made some decent posts in the past. He just needs a nice cup of chamomile tea and he'll be reet.
Wasn't having a go at you Diddy or anyone else, just seemed unfair Charon asking you to explain and after he'd made a general comment like he did, No offence meant mate.
They love ***s (snigger) in south east Asia. I watched something on the telly about companies pushing them there, as sales drop in the western world . But their ***s are like ten times stronger. The allams really should be exploring this.
Apologies for typing League Two instead of League One, I obviously know what league they're in. There's currently a campaign by MK Dons to drop the Dons part of the name, as they're embarrassed about the circumstances that led to their existence and they're fed up of being referred to as Franchise FC, they want to be a club in their own right. They should have earned that right by playing their way through the leagues like everyone else had to, then they wouldn't be the least respected club in English football. TWS are only the least respected in Hull, in the rest of the country most fans think they have some divine right to be in the top flight and they are respected by most.
I've reread your post and I still don't get it. I see nobody accusing the Allam's of being corrupt. I see people saying that they are grateful for their intervention, but unhappy with them changing the club name. Am I missing something?
I know something that you don't know but can't tell you is just bollocks at the end of the day. I know very little and simply post my opinion and perhaps that's what most posters do.
I think there are two ways of looking at Leeds.. 1. General dislike in Yorkshire, Lancashire, Millwall & Cardiff 2. Regular fans of other clubs really want them & all the BIG NAMES to be in the PL since it makes them feel like the matches are important. When clubs such as West Ham & Newcastle were relegated, other fans wanted them to come back since there's a general feeling they 'belong'. Clubs like ours are almost resented in some weird way as we are only 'making up the numbers'..
I get the same feeling as this, in fact it seems that teams that were in the old Division one are seen as founder members of the EPL, and are in some way part of the fabric of it when it was formed. Others like Wigan and us are seen as interlopers.
