The Ashes & Hampshire Cricket Summer Thread - II

Been a hero of mine since he started. I remember going to a one day game at Lords where he took Middx apart. Given me some great memories!

 

Hampshire win the toss and.......don't worry Brendy Hants will bowl first.

 

Hampshire team: Vince, Roberts, Adams, McKenzie, Ervine, Dawson, Wheater, Dimi, Tanvir, Wood, Briggs.

 

How's it going? What would be considered a reasonable score off 40 overs?

 

Glamorgan 124/3 off 26 overs. A par score is around 220.

 

Ok, so Glamorgan doing reasonably well then. Hopefully we can pick up a few quick wickets.

 

Need to pick up the run rate though. Hampshire will be happy.

 

Oh yea, sorry I forgot it's 40 overs and not 50.

Glamorgan reach 234/4 from their 40 overs.

 

With Carberry in the team, I'd have no worries about chasing this down at all. Rose Bowl wicket has been as flat as anything in recent weeks, and we've posted decent YB40 scores at home to Durham, Lancs and Derby this season.

But without him, you never know. 234 is certainly not a dreadful score. But I'd have very happily accepted if offerd it at the start. If one batsman - hopefully or Vince or Adams, for the purposes of my nerves! - makes an 80, this game should be ours.

Christ Tanvir and Dawson bowled well.
