QPR boss Harry Redknapp is ready to let January signing Yun Suk-Young fight for a coveted place in his first-team.

When the 23-year-old left-back arrived from Chunnam Dragons he was earmarked as a player for the future and one likely to go out on loan.

And that notion was increased when fellow full-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto arrived on loan from Tottenham on deadline day.

However, the Korean has impressed enough in his three appearances this season to earn his place in Redknapp’s reckoning.

"He’s not surprised me," Redknapp said when asked if Yun’s progress was a shock.

"He’s still adapting to the English game, learning the game. Great lad with a great attitude and he is keen to learn so he’s got a good chance."
