talkSPORT: "Lambert's pass for the third goal. That's an example of what makes him better than similar strikers touted in recent years."
Rickie Lambert clocks off for the night. 96 minutes in an England shirt. Two goals and two assists so far.
Indeed. He can see the simple pass that seems to allude so-called midfield geniuses. One day a pundit is going to go back through his history fully enough and realise that Rickie was once a midfielder.
Well done Rickie....scored a goal but more importantly has showed the other qualities to his game. As Saints fans, qualities we have seen rapidly improve over the last 4 years, probably not recognised by the rest of the British football fraternity. His world cup dream (if we qualify) must be well in grasp if he can maintain his form and fitness. Richly deserved for a really nice guy who has been our talisman but lets not forget SFC who deserve a lot of credit in the development of this raw 27yo youngster!!!
Rickie Lambert scored more goals in the first 45 minutes of his career than Andy Cole did across a seven-year spell.
At last...at last, others can see what Saints fans have always known...SRL is not just a target man or a clumsy great centre forward...he is class.
I think that performance pretty much ends the Lambert vs Carroll debate, there's no way Carroll would be capable of either of those assists.
Yep, absolutely right. Carroll and Holt could easily be compared, but the Lambert comparison between either is well and truly over. He's a far more complete player and is head and shoulders better than them.
Exactly....Hodgson would be a fool not to include a big target man option in his squads, Rickie wins hands down with his link up play.
