You're too late mate. His international career is almost over and you've clearly missed it all. That's the point I was making to Wats above, realizing well how condescending it would sound. But Stroller's (totally innocent it must be said) ignorance here illustrates the point I was making better than I ever could. The only thing left for me to do here is just sigh. So, here goes............................................. BIG SIGH
I respect Dunne's successful career Swords, and my point was not really against him as an individual. I just prefer to watch skilful players rather than blood and guts sluggers. I know a team needs a mix of talents, but I just can't get excited about watching the likes of Dunne and Henry in our performances so far this season. I am however excited about how we are going to play from now on.
I know where you're coming from mate. I'm afraid we're just going to have to get used to that kind of football because that's what you get in this Division and when played effectively - with a little skill thrown in - you get results and maybe promotion. We just gotta do what Big Sam did with the Hammers and kick, scrap and bludgeon our way up out of this division and then, God willing, we can get the ball down and play in the real League above. Fair play Stroller, you make some solid points mate.
i think there's probably a little surprise that Dunne's place hasn't been usurped by a younger model basically. Is there no one waiting in the wings?? I must admit I am worried about him getting injured.
Whether there is or not, it makes no difference. He's been the best defender for the Country in a generation, barely putting a foot wrong in all that time and they'll continue to play him until he falls flat on his face. (Or he retires which will be after this campaign.)
Class player, hope he has a good game and doesnt get injured. I am very happy to have him at the R'ss.
Just found England game about to be shown on setanta + It's online only but good quality. It's how we watched Leeds game live over here
