Im absolutely gutted we arent playing Man City tomorrow as we are obviously on a roll, hopefully we can keep the momentum going through to next weekend. Personally for me watching England has become very dull and I wouldnt rank us in the top 30 in the world.

    Truth is lads,
I'm not fussed about England or the other nations. Give me premier league footie any day over and England game where. 90 per cent of the time. We don't our can not field out BEST team FF sake!!! Oh and I think Woy is an idiot to boot. Tonights game we should win at a canter? But given half those selected have "pulled out" or are injured. Can't say I'm really excited about the game. I CAN remember when your country came before anything else, sadly now that's not the case. Give me a Stoke game over ANY others.

    Rant over.

It gives our new players another week to train with their new team mates. That has to be good news.

Welbeck out of the Ukraine game. Well at least we've got an excuse if we don't beat them, bloody injuries and referees, eh?

The National team will always struggle when it contains players with the ability of the following :-

    1) Kyle Walker
    2) Gary Cahill
    3) Ashley Young
    4) James Milner

None of which are international players.

I was about to post the same comment ... IMHO only 3 players who started played well. Gerrard, Welbeck and Lambert! The rest? Play like that on Tuesday I think we're fooked.

I'm with Ricc, Walker is a good player. People say Shawcross isn't good enough for England, that may be the case, but he's no worse than Cahill. As far as I can remember, in his career Ashley Young has scored 3 or 4 great goals, and done nothing else. I think there might be a place for Milner in the team, but not a starting one, he's a decent guy to have come on for the last 10 or 15 when the midfield is starting to look a little shakey.

personally I would have Milner cleaning the toilets, Young cleaning the boots and Cahill ironing the strips, thats how I rate them, absolutely useless and we have no chance of winning anything whilst we have players like these in our team. The young Everton lad Barkley looks like a good player and hopefully pushes one of the carp players out.

Thought Walker had a few blips towards the end of the game but that can happen when substitutes are brought on, thing is who would you replace these players with in the light of the current injured list.

I included Kyle Walker simply because he has absolutely no intelligence on the pitch. I know that many footballers are under educated but that lad does not seem to have the ability to make decisions.... ie I've just run 50 yards down the right wing with the ball and..... What do I do now?

The other three would not have come close to any other England side that I can remember and that goes back to the 1960's.... And I would also question their longevity in the side if they were still playing for Bolton and Aston Villa.

We are not expected to do well at next years World Cup, if we indeed qualify, so I don't think any harm would be done by taking 4-5 experienced players down the spine and building the kids around them. We all saw what Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen did as fearless teenagers!

That's probably from watching "not the face" Cole, the amount of times he's got into decent positions to cross then bottled it over the years has really wound me up. This next tournament will be the swansong for some if they make it that far so I agree bring the kids in now and let them play rather than stifle them.
