In terms of getting a body in........ we could do a lot worse for a year?
His wages should be low and his age isn't too bad either?

READING are in talks to bring former Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko to the club.

The 28-year-old is a free agent following his release from Paris Saint-Germain and discussions with Reading’s director of football Nick Hammond are ongoing.

As Sissoko is no longer contracted with a club, he can be signed outside of the transfer window, and Royals are hopeful they have done enough to tempt him to Madejski Stadium.

Hammond said: “He’s a good player and we’ve had a good conversation with him.

“We sold the club in terms of what we’re trying to do, but he’s a free agent so he will be looking at all the options that are out there.

“We’re hopeful but we’ll have to wait and see.”

IPSWICH Town manager Mick McCarthy says the club aren't interested in bringing in striker Billy Sharp on loan.

Leeds United, Doncaster Rovers, Reading and Sheffield Wednesday are also thought to be interested, according to reports.

Football League clubs are able to sign players on short-term loans of up to 93 days from next Tuesday.

McCarthy says he isn't looking to add to his senior squad: “We’ve done our business.”

Sharp, who spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, was an Ipswich target during former Derby County manager Paul Jewell’s time at the club back in the summer of 2011, while at Doncaster Rovers.

CHARLTON Athletic have agreed a new three-year deal with teenage striker Joe Pigott.

And manager Chris Powell, the former Derby County player, is delighted to have secured the services of the 19-year-old for a little longer.

He said: "It's in our DNA here at Charlton to give our young players a chance.

"Joe has shown everyone what it takes to have that desire to move on from the academy and the Under-21s.

"He knows there is a long way to go, but what we've seen so far we feel there's a lot to like and a lot to come from him, and hopefully he'll be a player for our future."

Piggott, who came through the club's youth academy and scored on his first-team debut earlier this season, said: "To commit to the club was exactly what I want to do as a young player.

"There are role models all around the club that have come through the academy to play for the first team. It's a great club to be at for any youngster."

Don't personally see much reason to bring in another CM. We have plenty of cover there and it would just be another player out of position. No point in numbers for numbers sake imho. Now if he was a striker on the other hand...

if we short of numbers in midfield we could do worse than him short term, but we're not.

Yeah, just been crazy busy over the last week or two. I've been to 2 weddings (neither mine before you ask...), started Sixth Form (yes I am that young...), had major laptop trauma (at current half of the screen works, and thats the part of it which works the best...), been in and out of hospital with a minor broken arm (the part of the arm which Tash also has problems with, if you know what I mean...), had a galaxy to run, all the while spending deadline day shouting:

[NSFW]GET OFF YOUR FAT ARSE JOE AND MAKE SOME ****ING SIGNINGS YOU LAZY EXCUSE FOR A JABBA THE HUTT IMPERSONATOR WHO CONTIBUTES NOTHING TO THE PLANET AND SO DESERVES TO BE HUNG UPSIDE-DOWN FROM A CEILING BEAM BY HIS SCROTUM WHILST BEING REPEATEDLY SMASHED IN THE FACE WITH JEDWARD[/NSFW]

So yeah, to summarise, everything's fine...

Artem Milevsky, Carlos Fierro and Erick Torres can all play upfront.

The other candidate is one Carlton Cole... unless he's signed onto WHU

All a complete moot point. If Lukaku on loan isn't a better option than Shola, then these guys aren't. We all know for an absolute fact that we're not signing anyone. Just leave it alone.

This has been mentioned on our board. The bloke's knee is crocked. Had to be a reason why Reading is the only british club talking to him. That's the reason.

This thread is exactly what annoys me about our fans this window.

I agree we needed to sign some quality players.

But I totally disagree with the quantity not quality ... The idea of getting anybody in is strange - we need people that will improve the team, no point in buying deadwood.
