other town fans are now coming round to my way of thinking. at the start of the new season i believe i was the only one who stood up and said we have no quality in our side ,we bought out of contract players ,<free> while other fans were saying i was being negative ,well you only have to look at the results for the first 5 games .its not going to get any better for the rest of the season with the players we have <again> its just the same old story ,bottom half of table yet again MM can not do anything with these players except hang on to the championship with a bit of luck ,itsME who is the only one who realy knows what he wants to do with the club .IS he realy botherd about us fans ,I dont think so ,i for one have now stopped going to matches while this lack of spending and investment in the club continues .WHILE our friends up the road have spent over 20million this season ,its almost makes you want to change sides BUT not to our friends up the road , wot will become of us nothing, while EVANS is in charge .

I agree there has been some, shall we say, soul searching from TRUE AND LEGIT town supporters on here.

Wow white horse,I nearly got the noose ready then after reading that. Our squad is better than a relegation battle. I think most of us will happily admit and know we are lacking 2/3 real quality players. We'll compete with most teams this season and I can't see why we won't be top ten, even if its just. We do need investment. And I hate to say it but some rich Arab money wouldn't go amiss. But can't see that happening. But I will remain positive that things will improve because ipswich is my team who I love thru thick and thin.

Some are getting a bit carried away on here atm, we don't have a very good squad (I was one of those saying we didn't White Horse) but I'm fairly confident that we'll finish higher than last season. As I've said we have a poor squad (bar the defence) but we have a manager who gets the best out of limited players (even if he's part of the reason why we have limited players), so we've got to just accept the position we're in atm.

As for wishing for some Arab money, be very careful what you wish for (something us town fans must learn after recent years), we herded Sheepshanks out of the club because he wasn't spending enough money and he took us into administration, so we got ME (the next scape goat), we herded Jim out of the club and we got Keane.

Now PJ and Clegg have gone and the new MDs have yet to be a figure head ME is the obvious target, whilst some of that venum is warrented for the first time in a while he's trying to run the club properly and he's always given managers support, although in terms of transfers less and less season upon season since the Keanes 1st season. He's pumped alot of money into this club and still does

I'm fully aware ME has pumped money into the club to keep us afloat and for that we should be thankful. What I think most of us would like is some more given to the manager to give him the opportunity to sign some quality and push us on. No denying MM is doing a stellar job with his resources. The only thing that's depressing me already is the doom mongers thinking we're in for another dog fight at the bottom.

I'm sorry but why are some people always so negative! It's like they want us to do bad! One thing I've learnt about the championship is that quality doesn't always get you up! Look at Palace last year, at the start of the season they were favourites to go down, and I would say their squad was no better than ours now. I know some of you would say Zaha was quality, but I'd say he's one of the most over rated players in the game.

Now I'm not saying I wouldn't like a few extra players. Personally I would love to see us go for Billy Sharp, I can't believe he's only 27! But the seasons barely began and we've had several close games that we've ended up loosing. If those games had tipped the other way I very some people would be saying our club was full of quality.

Personally I think we are loads better than last year and had a very good transfer market. Yes we are a winger and a striker short maybe but you never have the perfect squad!

Two good prem loans and we could have this quality!

So you made your mind up at the start of the season before a game had even been played, 5 games in and some more fans have made up their minds about the entire season. What a load of bollocks. Personally I'm glad pessimistic fans that want instant results like you have stopped going to matches.

We have lost the deadwood and high wage has-beens, are giving young players a chance in the first team and investing in the academy. We have a decent, hard working squad that have put up a damn good fight in every match they have played so far. We finally have a solid base to build from (all on 2 year+ contracts), adding a touch of class over the next few transfer windows and we will be in for a shot at promotion. If you can't wait until then go and support Chelsea.

" while other fans were saying i was being negative ,well you only have to look at the results for the first 5 games .its not going to get any better for the rest of the season "

Jesus christ, what is it with people having nervous breakdowns THIS early into the season?

I look at the table after 12 or so games, and assess from there.

Am I happy with how many points we have on the board? Clearly not, no.

However, beat Boro home and Yeovil home, and suddenly our start is half tidy.

QPR away will be the hardest away game of the season, Reading was always going to be ridiculous.

Likewise, if we'd won 5/5 and were top, we'd be getting the same post the other way " we're amazing best team in years "

I really do despair at times to be honest.

Should WBA fans panic that they are bottom after 3 games?

" i for one have now stopped going to matches while this lack of spending and investment in the club continues "

    How old are you, twelve?

Going by that theory, I assume you completely boycotted the club from 2001 - 2008 when there was very little investment.

Change sides White Horse? You can change lots of things including your gender, or do you mean youre coming out? A true fan of any team cannot even contemplate switching his or her allegiance, if youre considering changing sides you were never a true fan in the first place.

true right - you never give up on supporting your team. I understand people not considering going to matches when things are going tough. Its a lot of money to spend to endure rather than enjoy yourself. I even understand if instead of going to see Town you go and watch a local non-league team due to wanting to see a live match but you never go and just switch teams due to the going getting tough.
I hate the ME regime at the club but would never swap my support.

The original poster claims to be 65 but is suggesting changing support due to a lack of investment. Thats the kind of statement I expect from a 7 year old who suddenly supports Man City due to the superstars. Its a pathetic idea of support if you ask me.

In addition, although I would welcome the chance for a couple of money spending signings to improve the squad, Football never used to be and for me, never should be about the cash investment. Any old tosser can buy success. A decent team can spot unproven gems, improve potential and get an average bunch of players to perfrom through organisation and a decent game plan.

Sorry but for me the original poster is either a WUM or an ******
