I dispute it, so it's not beyond dispute.

    I believe I'm not alone.

In fact, I believe I'm a member of the vast majority.

Look firstly if "aliens" have travelled to get to Earth , at untold cost and over a considerable number of generations - for them to ABDUCT A HICK from Idaho !!!
then you deserve to believe in the faires at the bottom of the garden too.

The Universe is so vast and any theoretical speed people can travel in it so cumbersome , that we can't expect to ever have visitors to our planet - we have only been transmitting radio signals that have the slenderest chances of being heard for a hundred years and we have only been actively saying "hello" to anyone who will listen for 60yrs (SETI)

Its a pointless prediction , but i expect the planet we live on to be long gone before another life form lands on it - (a million years isn't a long time )

I just dont follow the idea that aliens are sat in the white house sucking Obamas brain through a straw - .

What do you mean untold cost? We aren't charging them for each visit. You can't think of these beings as having the same limitations as us, certainly not the same concepts of time, space and even trivial things like money and vanity. The craft that they would travel in aren't cumbersome, certainly not by our standards anyway.

You need to read up on what alien abduction is all about. Whether it's real or not, it's a harrowing experience that some people suffer with (and I do mean suffer, people have taken their own lives because of it) and it's not just about abducting hicks. You need to read some of the cases; you'll find that there are reports of it all over the world. Some of the victims are a little weird, but others are just regular people that this started happening to. Whatever the real story is behind it, there are people out there who genuinely live in fear of it, some refusing to go back to their homes because they know what will happen if they do.

As for the SETI program, I'm not convinced they're doing their best to contact anybody else; why would you send out radio waves when we have faster means of transporting information?

If you do read up on alien abduction, check the tales you read against tales of visitations going back through history. Apart from the description of the visitor, much of the script is interchangeable. The big difference is that in recent times, it's felt to be aliens and in the past it was goblins, incubus, witches etc. because that was the common image of the time. Check out sleep paralysis for an alternative view of what's being experienced.

Seti do use light waves, it's just the definition of 'light' in that spectrum that means it's described as radio waves.

sigh , ok so you seem to have the blueprints for interstella travel , share them with NASA and see what they would say ,

Say to them you are using known tech to build a spacecraft to wander the Universe to search for life , you also need to ask for dozens of volounteers to die of lets call it old age actually going nowhere , you will also have to assume the initial crew is prepared to produce offspring to forgoe a life as we know it Jim , to live on a boring spacecraft - for quite a few generations .
Now we are already talking a colossal vessel - it aint gonna happen .

Why would an alien species bored on their planet think differently ???

Anyway you seem to have unlocked the secrets that are just fancy theories borrowed from SCI-Fi movies and such .
Wormholes ? dark energy powered craft and time warps , bla bla blah ??

Trust me ive read up on alien Abductions - i even saw the crazy woman blaming aliens for hiding her cigarettes under her cushion ,
its why i have a strong opinion on this subject , its coz im educated and interested in this subject .

oh and please expand on ur last sentence coz im not sure how you mean ? radio waves travel at the speed of light - so you want these radio waves transported beyond that speed ?

Whittling, General relativity allows for speeds greater than the apparent speed of light, and some existing particles are already theorised to be traveling faster than the speed of light, so NASA wouldn't dismiss it as readily as you seem to think.

Time isn't always a straight line, in fact there's a decent amount of debate on what time is.

Time traveler tales seem so limited. It's always backwards and forwards in time. Why do they never go sideways or up or down in time?
