Interesting from Skrtel there on Rodgers now feeling that the players understand the system attacking wise and is looking to make sure the back is sorted. I think the transfers also point to that as well.

    Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

It is always a good thing to build your team from the back. If you are not conceding and you are scoring you are going to win many games.<ok>

The old defense wins championships comes to mind. I know we have only scored three goals but we saw last year that we can get them in bundles. I hope as the article says we are not jinxing anything ( whisper about the good D-fence) but it does look better.

Start talking about Shankly and you have to admit that all of his sides were built upon a strong defence. Rodgers has taken steps to strengthen our defence because he knows that we let in too many silly goals last season and that we can attack the hell out of anybody. So fix the former and take confidence in the latter.

  7. Thoughts: I want to go home!

Questions: Why is time taking so long?

Concerns: I'm driving 240 miles on Saturday morning and I've still not sorted the slow puncture (got a nail in one)

Fair point. Feel like I could do with a hit but pretty sure the local smack would be considered sub-par in a C19th Chinese opium den.

We are looking rather unimpressive but winning.

Man Utd won numerous titles under Fergie doing that exact thing. How many times have we watched United go an entire season looking unimpressive but keep getting those 1-0 wins.

As long as we keep winning I will forgive the early press, get goal then defend mentality.

It scares the "bee Jesus" out of me but I will take a whole season of crappy defensive second halves.

And yes... it is a whole team defensive play... and it is working... so far.

I think winning the first 3 games as we have done says a lot more about us than if we had won 3-0. We have shown on 3 occasions that we are more resilient at the back, and mentally tougher to hang onto a lead.
