Milan have left out one of their best players Niang by mistakingly putting him on the wrong list of players to be registered in the 25 man squad .

I read that this morning - that's amazing.

That's them one winger down.

We'll only need to deal with Robinho, El Sharaawy and Kaka in those positions now <yikes>

I watched a good bit of the Barca game this evening(and a few others this sea saw). It got to 2-2 in the 90th minute and Barca stilled pulled it out of the fire.

It seems to this cat that the addition of Neymar has made Barca a little different. It is now only 95% pass pass pass. The remainder Is a bit direct. .... It seems that way anyway.

It's their new coach, he has blended skill with determination.

I can see them winning it this year as they seem to have the right blend.

Gerardo Daniel Martino, although relatively unknown in Europe, has a great reputation as a coach in Argentina and Paraguay and at one time was voted the greatest player ever to wear the shirt of Argentina's top club, 'Newell's Old Boys'. The big hope of Barca fans, including myself, is that he will restore the high energy pressing and attacking style of play which was obviously missing last year. It's also hoped that he will bolster the defence and it's rumoured that he'll bring in Newell's Old Boys defender Santiago Vergini, who is now out of contract. Barca looked a 'tired' team in last years CL final and Bayern actually adopted the tactics for which Barca were known - which can be put down to the influence of Josep Guardiola i Sala. Barca, like Celtic, consider themselves Mes Que Un Club and the feeling is that the new coach will fit right in to that outlook.

Mari O'Balotelli on the Sellick

AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli has revealed that he is looking forward to playing Celtic in the Champions’ League.

Balotelli revealed to the Scotsman that teammate Kaka has been sharing stories of his experiences at Celtic Park.

The outspoken Italian said: “Kaka has told us about the games he has played in for Milan against Celtic. He has warned us it will be tough. Especially so in Scotland with the atmosphere they create.

“To play in atmospheres that are intense is when I play my best football.”

“We know that every game in this group is going to be tough and that includes the two against Celtic.

“Last season they showed they are not in the Champions League to make up the numbers. They got further than Chelsea and Manchester City last season. That says a lot about their talent and character.

“Maybe nobody expected Celtic to beat Barcelona – but this is football, and what you expect to happen doesn’t always happen. There will be more surprises this season – there always is.”

The Scottish side may be without up to four of their key players that featured in last year’s European successes, as Gary Hooper, Victor Wanyama and Kelvin Wilson have all left the club while young striker Tony Watt is on loan at Belgian side Lierse.

Balotelli has revealed that he thinks Celtic’s new signing Nir Biton is a great player, after he was loaned to Manchester City during Balotelli’s time at the club.

“I remember Nir and the players at City were impressed with him. I just think there were some issues with a work permit.

“City, as everybody knows, have the the money to sign the best players in the world. So the fact they were interested in Nir is a big compliment for him”, Balotelli added.

The Italian also spoke about his relationship with former Celtic striker Paolo di Canio, as the Sunderland manager once told the media that Balotelli “should be given a slap”.

“I do not remember di Canio playing for Celtic – I was not old enough for that!

“He has said some things that are not complimentary about me – but I have no need to react. I will focus on my goal to be successful with Milan and become the best player in the world.”

"Tuesday 17 September 2013
James Forrest has been ruled out of Celtic's Champions League game against AC Milan at the San Siro on Wednesday night.

The Hoops winger missed the Scottish Premiership win over Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday with an ongoing sciatica problem but has also taken ill and was absent when the Hoops squad met up at Glasgow airport this morning ahead of their flight to Italy for the opening Group H fixture."

All done to GlasgowcCeltic Council.

Glasgow is to lay on a Champions League welcome to foreign fans visiting the city to watch their team play Celtic.

Fan zones, showing the games and featuring entertainment and music, will be running in Merchant Square for Ajax, Barcelona and AC Milan supporters.

The city's promotional website People Make Glasgow has also been launched in Spanish, Italian and Dutch versions.

Scottish Champions Celtic host Barcelona, Ajax and AC Milan on 1 October, 22 October and 26 November.

About 5,000 foreign fans are expected in Glasgow over the three dates.

It is hoped efforts to help them enjoy their stay will also bring financial benefits for the city's businesses.

Glasgow City Council leader Cllr Gordon Matheson said: "Glasgow is renowned for its warm welcome, particularly for visiting football fans, and there's always a colourful, party atmosphere on match day when the Champions League comes to town.

"We're also no stranger to big footballing occasions having hosted the Champions League final in 2002 and the UEFA Cup final in 2007."
