Yeah but thats why they bought in Isco, who they obviously think is just as good

  2. Barca bought Fabregas despite having Xavi, Iniesta, Messi and Villa at the time. It's a squad game. If they were going to shift anyone it should have been Modric.

I agree, it's illogical, but they must have needed the Ozil money to fund the Bale move. Modric wouldn't have sold for £40M.

  4. At which point, I'd have kept Ozil and not bought Bale <laugh>

However, I take your point on the Real chairman/President <ok>

Ozil isn't a match winner! Bale is! simple. RM have only cared about the CL for a long time now, and they are tired of waiting.

Then why not keep Ozil and buy Suarez? There's more goals in Suarez easily and you get to keep Ozil to supply him.

Beats me! but saying that I'll think they will come knocking for Suarez sooner rather than later. You know what RM are like they are very fickle, If they had just stuck with any of their teams and managers over the last 10 years i'm sure they would have won the CL several times, which is basically what Barca did. But hey if they want to keep making the same mistakes I'm fine with that as long as they are prepared to fork out 80m for Suarez.

It's simple really. It's a case of FDF - not with the manager but with Perez.

You can all scoff at my suggestion that Ozil may not be the star you are all suggesting he will be. There's got to be a lot of wounded pride there!

I would go for Bale as we already have a clever number 10 in Coutinho. What we really need is a powerful runner who can push the opposition back with pace and strength - this will help improve our counter attack which isn't that great.

Because Isco is better than him, simple really. Ozil might have been a star in German football but he was just another player at Madrid and why hold onto a bit part player when you can get £42mil for him.

Wouldn't say he's a bit part player. He's a world class player and his stats over the past 5 years are astonishing. It's no surprise that players like Ronaldo and even Fabregas have said they're shocked as to why he's leaving.

He wasn't a bit part player last season but he would be this season if he stayed because Isco will play all the time.

Madrid have the ridiculous policy of always having to bring galacticos in, even when players don't need replacing. Isco is the golden boy in Spain at the moment but he's not yet a better player

Isco isn't better than him yet. Isco was a political signing. But bringing in 3 new midfield players meant one of the old ones had to leave. Needless to say the Madrid fans and players canot believe it was Ozil that went and assumed it would be any number of other midfield players first. They are all devestated to see him go.

Boys good, but better than Ozil, no, not yet (he may never be as good).
Most have already said, looking forward to seeing the lad Ozil play in the Premiership..

I would not expect an Arsenal fan to admit that Isco is better than their new £42mil signing but the only reason Ozil was sold is because Ancelotti thinks Isco is a better player than him and I agree with him totally. Only time will tell if they made the right decision I suppose.

You can't seriously think Ancelotti had any say in either buying Isco or selling Ozil..

Where did I say that? He still has to pick a team from the players he has been given though it just so happens that Isco was in the team and Ozil was on the bench at the weekend watching Isco bang in two goals.
