Have liked the look of Koren the last two games. Think he will continue do very well along side of Huddlestone and Livermore. And based upon his attempt on Saturday v Man City is likely to stick a few in the back of the net. If he continues his form its good news for City, as many people including some on this forum were beginning to write him off.
I haven't seen anything impressive from him sorry. He's not captain material (davies by a country mile) He's so much slower on the ball, accuracy gone and incredibly weak on the ball. He's doing OK in my opinion. Not getting why he is being lauded.
I think the last couple of games he has looked at home in the premier league. He hasn't had to tackle, only to press the ball. He's very good on the ball and can pick a pass, hopefully it continues.
He has looked good so far this season. He was very poor last season and was rightly criticised by many. Proved me wrong so far.
Agreed. i wasn't a big fan of RoKo last year because he drifted in and out of games between flashes of brilliance. He has looked like the real Robert Koren this year and Thudd and Livermore have made a huge difference to his play, taking the defensive pressure off and allowing him to show his real creative talents. Would still prefer Davies as captain though. We need a talker out there!!
I wasnt a big Koren fan last year but his play this year has been quality. Perhaps he is just one of those players that the PL is suited for.
What utter drivel, he's been one of our best players in the past two games, have you gone back to not watching us again?
judging by his performances so far this season Koren is doing a great job, leading by example and showing true class and experience .....
I have been very impressed with him the first 3 games, it certainly seems that with Hudd and Livermore he can play more of his natural game. The balance in mid-field looks good, just wonder how Quinn will be used, I guess if Brady is pushed forward should Aluka be out, then Quinn could slot in there.
Koren is a brilliant player when he's given an attacking role. Once he has to defend, that's when people begin to criticise him because he's ****e at defending. Now Huddlestone and Livermore track back, it gives Koren his freedom to do what he does best; incisive passes that create chances.
I totally disagree with this. He's done very well in the last two games (my MOTM against Norwich) but it's the other side of his game that's improved. He looks sharp, active and he's even getting stuck in a lot more. I suspect this is to do with the time of year (think about it, he always seems to be better at this time of year and turns to **** after new year when he starts picking up injuries and loses form, presumably fatigue related). But the side of his game he's more known for I still don't think is that good. I don't see Koren as a playmaker type any more because he wastes too many good positions to create a chance, such as the simple 2-yard pass he needed to play to Graham on Saturday for an open goal after he impressively crept in behind Nastasic and nicked that long ball from Figueroa. He's not that creative any more imo, but he is a grafter, for the moment at least.
He will get a bit more time between games with all the internationals coming up so this could be his marquee season for us, Pirlo was written off when he was a similar age but he shows too that at the highest level domestically if you have a lot of skill you can get by, if others can track back for you. Was unlucky not to score the other day Koren and that would have taken the focus off the strikers a bit, like it always has with Korens goals.
I have to admit I didn't think he'd cut it this year, especially after Chelski, but v MC he looked good. Against lesser opposition I think him & Hudds will show them up good.
Spot on ^^^^ this. Dont worry those same people are quick to write off many a player. With Quinn now fit non of the midfield can afford to drop standards. SB and Hull City looking in great shape.
