I must be honest from the start, I don't often post on here, although I'm an avid follower. Anyway, at my local, we have our annual season prediction competition just about to start...we always wait til the transfer market closes. We have to name our top 4 and bottom 3 in the correct order they will finish the season. So after a lot of thought, I've gone for this: 1. Chelsea 2. Arsenal (I think Ozil is an excellent buy) 3. Spurs 4. Man City 18. Cardiff 19. Sunderland 20. Crystal Palace I know eyebrows will be raised at not having Man Utd in there, I personally feel that they have fallen into the same trap that Man City did last season and not strenghtened their squad, added into the fact the change in management etc I believe a shock may be on the cards. Bear in mind, I never win this comp but would like to hear your views all the same.
I ain't gonna be popular but for what it is worth.... Man city Chelsea Man utd (just) Arsenal (ozil is truly class) Liverpool (they seem to have a good system for their players and the **** bag will return in 3 matches Spurs (too many new faces will take too long to find their feet) Relegated Toon Hull Sunderland
I'm sure wotever we predict somebody won't be too pleased. I do understand your choice regarding spurs not finishing top 4, and I agree there is a concern about the team gelling. I may have lilywhite tinted glasses on but I see us having a stronger squad than other teams around us. We're well equiped to handle the vigours of a long season ahead including a couple of good cup runs. Time will tell I guess!!
Sunderland are a mess. Di canio could take them down as he has anger management issues, and doesn't understand how to use tactics and keep players happy so you could be right. Cardiff I reckon will stay up as they close down quickly and should pick up points. Palace.Holloway, chamakh...no need to say much more!
Appreciate your comments boss...I totally agree re di canio...did you see him smiling as Holloway celebrated palaces 3rd goal? Understand ur comments re Cardiff.....who would you replace them with in your bottom 3?
I'm going for Palace, Stoke and Sunderland in the bottom three. Sunderland are a disaster waiting to happen, Palace just don't have anything about them, and Stoke will probably flame out by January and drop like a stone under Hughes. As for top four, when Bale begs for us to loan him back in January so he doesn't have to play at left back we'll clinch top four.
who do I hope? Newcastle but realistically I think Norwich will struggle but just make it. Tough call to say who could replace Cardiff so as this isn't my competition, ill sit on the fenceLOL
Tough calls at this stage but I'd guess at 1st Chelsea 2nd Man City 3rd Man Utd 4th too close to call between us, Arsenal and Liverpool 18th Fulham 19th Hull 20th Palace Although I think that both north east clubs will struggle this season.
Gyaarrr Pirate, we have a similar competition here too, if you fancy earning the respect/ridicule at the end of the season: http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/224415-2013-14-Season-Predictions The only slight concern I have for them is if they continue this blistering start and then get lazy and complacent as probably the squad are too good for the Championship. It would be a massive shock if they don't go up though.
1.Chelsea... look difficult to beat already. 2.City...might be wrong, just seems something missing. 3.United...Should do enough. 4.Goons...Ughh! 5.Pool...Suarez is guaranteed goals. 6.Spurs...we will drop points while we sort ourselves, depends how the others do if we're still in touch, 4th at best for us. Relegated: Palace, Sunderland, Hull.
1) Chelsea 2) Man Utd 3) Man City 4) Arsenal 18) West Brom 19) Sunderland 20) Palace Hope I'm wrong regarding top 4, prefer you to Arsenal and Thudd and Livermore look class so we're fairly grateful to you for that. Best of luck lads.
I know The dreaded thread merge won't be far off now. I'm sure it's a conspiracy by the mods to keep me as a low profile poster, and therefore not a threat to their position
1) Chelsea 2) City 3) Arsenal 4) Spurs 5) Liverpool 6) Utd - 18) Newcastle 19) Hull 20) Palace I also think the top 6 positions will be ridiculously close this year. I have a feeling it'll be the best Premier League season we've seen in a while, possibly ever. Wouldn't surprise me if all of my predictions are wrong, Liverpool have started strongly and still have Suarez to come back, Chelsea while having a good squad haven't massively impressed me on the pitch but the Mourinho factor is always there, Utd don't look the same but you can never write them off, Arsenal now have Ozil to what is an already strong first team, we have 7 new players all capable of improving the squad/ team and with City's strike force you can't write them off. Going to be interesting.
i don't think the goons will finish top4,they have Ozil but haven't solved their problem area's,and i think sooner or later that will damage their chances
