He wasn't available all window. You just came in with a mental offer that they couldn't refuse. I bet if you'd put that offer in on the first day of the window you'd all think Bruce had gone mad wasting money away. You could get much better strikers in for 5m IMO.
that's not what our manager said we were made aware of his availability on deadline day but it was based on them bringing players in .
I would have really gone all out for Jordan Rhodes if I was you. I would have made him a bigger priority then Huddlestone Goalscorers make all the difference
They got 2 but they wanted Lukaku aswell. Signing strikers on deadline day is a bad idea as you really have to pay over the odds to get them. We learnt our lesson form that years ago with Beckford
Bruce had tried other players and for one reason or other they fell through, Austin for one. The Club put in a bid on the last day for Long when informed he was available. The position the club are in right now i.e. being in the Prem, I can't see them putting in a bid with not enough money to pay for it. It would be professional suicide, no one would do business with us again, thay's why this is total bullshit.
Yeah but there's questions over the Austin deal as well. We said he was injured, but he's still bleeding playing.
Slight problem with that being you would have to double the five million ! And don't underestimate the difference huddlestone and Livermore have made to our side proper class the pair of them , would take those two over one forward any day .
Rhodes scores the goals to keep you up your quids in. Rhodes does really well but you get relegated then you sell him on for more then what you paid Rhodes struggles and you get relegated then you know you have a striker who will score alot of goals back in the championship Both Livermore and Huddlestone are class signings for you but whats the point if you dont have a striker who can stick the ball in the onion bag?
Go on then, who? Taking wages into account. Well done for suggesting Rhodes Proud, you do know they wanted £10 million for him don't you.
We said he had a problem with his knee that if it required surgery would be a lengthy lay off he could play the next two hundred games he could play the next two , we wasn't prepared to gamble the money on him.
