and that is true. what is required is aspas to come out and suarez in playing nominally from the right but i think actually accomodating coutinho in the centre with moses might f it up more... henderson will have to go.
Sorry MITO but that is just a rumour that had been spread. Carragher live on TV and other people/pundits on LFCTV that are connected to the club said it was absolutely nothing to do with wages. The fact is Rodgers preferred Migs to Reina, therefore replaced him. No way would Reina sit on the bench, so he had to move him on. Wages had nothing to do with the situation in any way. But Jones is ****e
This season was always going to be interesting given that last season top 3 have new managers. Think it's even more interesting now that United haven't really signed anyone, bar Fellaini, Arsenal haven't addressed the positions that they needed most, Spurs have replaced their 1 brilliant player with a whole new team of good players, and we've not only strengthened an area we were short, but always we've made a decent start to the season. Race for the title should be closer this year, and the races for top 4 should be even greater.
Looking at the fixture list, we actually have a decent run up mid November, with our only top team fixture Arsenal away untill then. Then we play Everton, Spurs, man city and Chelsea all away in just over a month. I think we should be in the top 2 or 3 teams up untill those games, but its where we come out on the other side of Christmas that will decide our season.
Really interesting season ahead. As signings go Toure could turn into one of those Gary Mac type signings. The fans love him already. Massive credit to whoever decided on going for him because as a replacement for Carra he fits the bill perfectly. I was getting frustrated towards the end of the window that we hadn't strengthened where we were weakest last year. Ilori alone wouldn't have solved the problem but Sakho is the beast we've been missing for a long time IMO. Never any guarantees with any player but he has the potential to be a great signing. Aspas I'm unsure of but as a squad player he looks perfectly capable. Can he be an impact player off the bench? Massive bonus if he can. Ming should be good. Looks a decent keeper but judge him as with all the other new boys at the end of the season. Hopefully he'll stay fit as Jones makes me nervous....although in fairness he wasn't terrible when he played last year...just not great. Alberto looks like he needs some time to get used to the pace of the game so again we wait and see. The two loanees need to show they are willing to fight for a place. Both decent players but so was Sahin. The best for us will be if they play like they've got something to prove. The rest of the squad need to keep up the good work we've seen since January. As Gonz said, quite often the measure of a team is how they react to defeat or even just to going a goal behind (...seems ages ago) and whether or not we get that never say die spirit for most of the season. A quiet optimism. If nothing else folks...it WILL be a season long rollercoaster ride.
As to the loans, Cissokho (I know he's only played a part of two games) but his attitude in both and off the field seems to be really good. He looks to be very happy to play for us (biggest smile in the leaning photos ) I think he will look to put the effort in and could turn out to be a very good deal. Moses has something to prove, looked good in his European games under Rafa only to be shipped out and told that he wasn't good enough (lower even than the misfiring ladyboy). Hope he uses this loan to show what he can do and then get out of Chelsea. Alberto is an interesting player. He strikes me as a Xavi type player who will look to dictate play and create the chances to create chances. But he is young and it will take time. With hard work I can see why he is rated highly.
Using MITO's trademark 'Man In The Street Test' - I would class Cissokho and Sakho are fantastic buys. They have earned a reputation around Europe as being very good players, with Sakho having potential to become world class and Cissokho trying to rediscover his top form. I'm expecting less from Ilori, Aspas, Alberto, Toure and Mignolet. However the latter 2 have impressed me greatly since their arrivals and appear to be an upgrade on their predecessors from last season. Going back to Cissokho - you could see how disappointed he was when he went off injured. Really wanted to prove himself but couldn't - hope he comes back stronger.
