    Each time I see a photo of Bale in a Real shirt I find it hard to accept and still think that he's one of us. It's going to take some getting over by the average fan that he's not here any longer. Modric didn't have the same impact as Bale so when he left it was balls to him but Bale's going leaves an aftertaste.

    Shall I start a thread about Tottenham in the winter transfer window or are we all just suffering a tad from burnout? No? I thought not. Anyway as we have talked (at least some of us) about getting another striker in Dzeko was mentioned and I say why not?

    <grr>

    I propose an embargo on all transfer related posts until 1st December.

    I also propose an embargo on all Bale related posts for eternity (or until he re-signs for us)

    You having a laugh Thor? Defoe is still a superb back up striker and I expect he will have another period where he bangs in the goals (aswell as the wags).

    Dzeko is good for the super sub role at city, but hes a donkey isn't he.

    Having just watched highlight reels, I'm wondering if our best team might not have Lamela on the right, Erikson in the center and Holtby on the left, with Eriksen and Holtby switching up frequently. Both look good both in the center and on the left cutting in, and given their passing skills, it might be ideal for getting the ball to Soldado and Lamela.

    Dzeko has started all of City's games so far hasn't he? I doubt they'd sell him at the moment.

    Besides our striking options are pretty good I think. Soldado, Defoe, Adebayor and a youngster in Kane isn't a bad selection.

    Hope his debut doesn't go like Falque's at Rayo Vallecano...

    Sexy I just cannot agree with you. Just what do you think Adebayor will do differently this season than he did last? Nothing that's what. He's totally out of place now and Defoe cannot be relied upon especially with his habit of missing sitters. Kane I don't know about but we CERTAINLY need another striker.

  17. I do. He isn't good enough for Prem, let alone Spurs, End of.

    Can't agree with that, when he plays for the U21's he appears to have bags of time and looks decidedly impressive. When he tries to step up he looks rushed and ineffective. I think he might be trying a little too hard and lacks confidence at the higher level. I think he needs a loan to say Spain, Portugal or even Italy. I think the style of football would help him develop. Look at someone like KPB who couldn't break into the Spurs side but has done well in Milan and just moved to Shalke. I think it's a little too early to write off Harry Kane yet.

    Kane came on for the U21s yesterday and linked up well at one point with Carroll.
    Made a great run that caught out the whole defence, getting on the end of a delightful chipped through ball, going round the keeper and backheeling it to Hughes who had the goal at his mercy.
    Unfortunately the Derby midfielder took a little too long and a defender got a lucky block with his shoulder.

    Sorry to interrupt as it were, but don't you think Schalke is a horrible step down from AC Milan? I didn't see this transfer, but catching up a bit, it looks to me like he just wanted to return to Germany away from the racism issues in Italy, I recall he's been at the centre of some issues of that nature over the last year or two. I'd have still thought a better club than Schalke may have wanted him....obviously not.
