Yes, he may have played for Sunderland. But, after seeing both the Damned United, the following documentary on BBC 2 this evening. All I can say is, WHAT A MAN! Everything about him just says legend! I would love it, if our beloved club ever has a manager like him.

He makes Mourinho look like a pup!

It was also excellent to hear Sir Bobby in the documentary too.

    Fantastic documentary, and very emotional.

R.I.P Brian Clough (and Sir Bob<ok>)

It's a good piece of cinema but it has huge, gaping factual errors. Anyway surely if you're judging Clough based on the film, it just proves he was a cocky little ****er who relied on Peter Taylor for his success?

Oh right, assumed the documentary being discussed was just the same one they had on the Damned United's DVD Extras which was just a load of uninformative interviews. Apologies.

"I wouldn't say I was the best manager in the business. But I was in the top one" - On his own success.

    Cant top that one IMO

Puts Revie to shame. Revie was class, but Leeds were horrible. Had Clough had more time at Leeds, they would have went on to win more.

Not too sure if he would have done too well at Leeds, it was a stupid appointment (not in terms of his ability as a manager) but the fact that EVERYONE at Leeds absolutely hated him. He would have had to have rebuilt the team from scratch.

I missed the documentary but I have seen one about him before so maybe its just a repeat! I have also read his Autobiography which was also superb! He was ecentric, electric and a genius!

First thing he should have done was to sell the ginger twat bremner. He would have had a chance then. The settings for the film were all crap. Like filming the inside of elland road so you could see the new stande which was only built 10 years ago! Why didn't they film from the other side so only the old stand was visible. Many other gaffs as well.

First thing he should have done was tell his players that he valued their achievements but wanted to move them on gently into a new post-Revie era. Not ****ing insult them and slander the name of the Don.

I agree with both statements above. Obviously he can't have done both first, but he should have done both at the start of his helm.
