No other team has broken into this particular big 4 though so ..... that's still the big 4 as far as I'm concerned.
Can't agree with that. This season I can easily see United slipping out of that 'club'. If they do then I would hope that they followed a declining trend and became a bridesmaid club.
sustaining a run is the hard part, no distractions, no loss of form, low injuries and suspensions. we had a good last ten no question. our first 3 this year is more impressive as our last ten had little pressure on us. 3 is not a run not yet in my mind. if we come back after the internationals and pick it up and win then its a run. 3 things will hurt us 1. cup distraction 2. christmas schedule 3. injuries. we want 70 points, we have 9 so far. its all about keeping it going.
Can I just put this one straight - me and Bluff were talking about English teams in the quarters, semis and finals of the CL. He produced a list - hence my 'big 4' comment. It wasn't a general comment on who the big 4 of the PL are/should be/were or anything else. It was CL related only! Which is also why I said this 'particular big 4'
no other club has broken into this particular big 4. well how long is this particular big 4 going for..... spurs made 4th 2 years ago and cheski's lucky european adventure robbed them. last season arsenal needed a huge run and a bit of luck to snatch 4th on the last day. the "big 4" is as vulnerable as ever. someone will drop arsenal eventually.... it will happen it's just when and who... will it be a billionaire or tottenham or will it be us. and if it is us what will fsg do? will they sustain it with higher wages and investment? We've done well for the past 12 months off the pitch, on the pitch we've improved for the last 9 months. the next step is going to be a big change and to attract an ozil we need 150k per week and i hope a player with ambition!
The 'big 4' that you referred to were the 4 clubs that had dominated the CL places for most of the PL era to that point. The fact that during those few years of English dominance in that competition it was those 4 clubs doing it, is down to the fact that they were the ones representing the league - as our league was way ahead of the rest of Europe at that point. They were also well seeded every year - which undoubtedly also helped. Had City & their billions been around then, I reckon they'd have probably done better that they've shown in the last 2 years.
city's woes are down to only three things 1. gareth barry 2. mancini's stupidity 3. uefa seedings i predict they will be second seeds minimum form now on as they will win the league and progress out of their group. they have shed the woefully slow and donkeyish barry (why did you go for that guy tobes.. .why??) and pelligrini can organise a team properly
You're clueless mate, here's what City fans think of him; http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=275833 http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/News/Article.aspx?id=395#.Uict7Upwbcs
