'Shane is happy. He's been doing pretty well there in the last couple of years and I expect it will continue that way. There's no problem with him at all. Back to the same old Shane today.' - Jon Walters after training today.

    Source?

If true - of course he will seemingly be 'happy' - he has to be in that mentality for a vital WC Qualifier. His mood will change when he meets back up with Clarke.

Well we all know that the team that Bruce most wants to beat this season...and beat badly....home and away...is WBA. Our Irish lads who are friends with Shane will be as pissed as he is...see Meylers tweet. There will be no love lost between Steve and Clarke. No handshake/greeting before the game. If Clarke tries it....walk away Steve...as the boos ring down at the KC. Disgraceful behaviour!!

Stop talking ****e. When AKCJ is talking the most sense in a thread it's time to shut it down.

We're getting little man syndrome again like frazer a few seasons ago.

You might as well blame Chelsea for this, if Lukaku hadn't switched to Everton at the last minute, we'd have got Long. West Brom didn't get their man, so we didn't get ours, these things happen.

Do not forget we must have offered Long a "sweetner" to come to Hull. Probably an increase in wages and improved contract terms. He has now lost that. No doubt when he gets back to West Brom his first question will be "will you match what Hull offered me?"

Equally likely will be the answer "No" because you are only our 5th choice striker now! Remember also that WBA have lost a £5.5m windfall that would have helped pay for Anichebe and are now paying an extra strikers wages over and above what they expected. Say an extra £1m per year. So I doubt Clarke is Flavour of the Month with the WBA Finance Director either.

Wonder what Peter Odemwingie has to say about Clarke. Bet we see something in the gutter press from him soon.

Bruce will be out to batter Sunderland, he is still very raw about what went on up there. Its time he moved on.

I dont see him having any problem with football. Its the way of the world, we're just the bottom feeders at the minute.

I'm not really that fussed, you can't miss what you didn't have.

I've never really liked Steve Clark. He looks like the bloke from the film Rat Race that was born without a personality.

I really don't know why everyone is getting so wound up.

WBA missed out on the big lad from Chelsea due to Everton and therefore decided to keep Long. If we were in that situation I'd have expected us to do exactly the same.

We left it to the last minute, for a change, and it didn't come off.

It's our own daft fault for leaving it so late and not having other targets.

    Here endeth the lesson.

I agree with Chazz on this one. Clarke is only looking after the interests of his own club.

Afterall, they got pissed about by Lukaku, the other night.

I think most Baggies hate their chairman rather than Clarke himself.

We need to do business better, because this is a re-occuring theme, ie, losing out on a player at the death on transfer deadline day.

Its a reoccuring theme for many clubs.

    Arsenal - Ba
    WBA - Lukaku
    Us - Long.

    **** happens.

Anichebe was a replacement for Odemwinge, Lukaku was a replacement for Long.

As Lukaku will be on more money than Long and required a £5m loan fee, they've saved a load of money, rather than paying any extra.

Chazz is correct, and also unless my memory is playing tricks, I recall the same amount of vitriol being aimed at Bruce when he was managing the Mackams... Turner?

I'm with Canada on this. The apathy of some of our posters is embarrassing.

In addition, Brucey should put chewing gum on Clarkes chair in the dug out, and tie his laces together, and start a nasty rumour about him involving Clarke, his dog and an aubergine.

That'll learn him not to **** with us
