Morning all from a bright and sunny West West London. Been a busy bunny this morning, I sold some shares to make a quick buck or two, I booked a B&B in Yeovil for New Year (Mrs W_Y has seen through my plan of attending the game on NYD!) and actually did some work to re-baseline my latest project crisis! I see Hendo's trail has finally come up before the beak - If that had been me, I would have done my porridge by now!
Ello all. The weather isnt sure what to do here. Out the back its nice and sunny, but out the front its grey and menacing. Today is a very boring day, its one of those horrid days of waiting. I need to go out in the next hour, and am waiting on a load of washing. I hate these days of doing nothing!! Most of all I hate the 60 mile drive back home, having done the exact same journey for the past 16 years. All of this just to collect a Black Belt.
That's it for this morning. I have been working in the shade but it has become too hot 32°C to even do something there. Similar forecast for tomorrow, then maybe a light shower or two Friday. Lifted all the shallots a couple of weeks ago and they have dried off well and there should be enough to see the two of us through the winter. Will lift the onions tomorrow as I don't think they will get any larger now. Dug down in one spot to a depth of 8" and there is no sign of any dampness in the soil despite the mounds of compost that I used in the early part of the year. Really need to think about getting even more water butts.
That's the safer way of doing it - telling your wife she needs a bigger butt would be fraught with danger...
I see that Greg Dyke has kicked off his campaign to improve the England team and set the "target" for England to win the World Cup in 2022 - yeah great target Greg, seeing that you only have 4 years in the job. He is starting early next year and should have a plan by the end of 2014 - well Greg, why not start now and finish by half way through 2014 if it's important. Absolute typical bullshit coming out of the FA and the coverage on 5-Live is as crap as ever - not one comment on the changes of the rules for Academies that means the club is filthy rich they cannot protect their investments. Still they have a brand new white elephant gin palace that they can host corporate events - if they just looked at the numbers of qualified coaches in Spain and Germany and Holland compared to England, they can see the starting point to spend their money! Utter, utter waste of time...
It only took me 9 years, but tonight I was presented with my black belt. It's been a lot of hard work and it doesn't stop here, I have my 2nd Dan to work for and students to train. But it's great to finally have my reward
Well done Dan, 9 years and you deserve it. Maybe you should loosen it off a bit. Doesn't do a lot for the figure, but maybe you were full of celebration cake. Just joking.
Haha you would have thought that over the 9 years I would have been able to get my weight under control. But I have absolutely no willpower whatsoever. It's something I aim to do in the near future.
