all some are saying is that bony for his price tag which i am against as we should not pay as much as that at this stage anyway has not and don't look like a player worth that much, and i even made an excuse as to why. yes he needs time but reports in training is he lacks pace and needs to work harder. the premiership is a different kettle of fish to what he is use to and he needs time to adjust to the pace...if he was looked at now and valued then £12 million looks to much. For £12 million i would have at least expect him to be fitter than he is by now...time will tell i suppose..
Hopefully the worries prove pointless. Every player is a risk due to the rewards of survival. I for one am more than happy with the toings and froings this transfer window. Sometimes Dai, you have to trust the people that have got us to where we are. Anyhow, even if you cannot have faith in them....have faith in the SuperSwans. Bony will prove the doubters they were perhaps a little hasty in dismissing the talents that have brought him the Golden Boot in the dutch league Even Alvarez may turn out to be fantastic business (try before you buy ) Lots more clubs have taken bigger risks on untested players Laudrup doesnt buy many lemons Everybody needs to be enjoying possibly the best transfer window of our history. Not one of our much fancied players was enticed away. This just shows that we are a big draw now. Dai, I just wish you would chill out sometimes
Agree with that Swim .. Never have we had it so good being swans fans so we would Do well to remember that I think Also lets not forget the prem season early on is a minefield with strange results everywhere To look at the table after games is not fair on anyone really Of all the teams in the premier league I think we have recruited well, not spending a fortune and not gambling wit our legacy Swansea city fc has become a well run business and football club we have arrived in the modern game and people look at how we do things not the other way around Search you tube for comments on how other people think about our club, look at the fall and rise comments section Every lower league team has something to aspire to thanks to what our club has done Remember the bad times and just be thankful we are watching WORLD stars pull on our fookin' shirt every week, they are doing their best for us so lets support them
when it was announced swim that we are to buy a player for £12 million i thought why? I always though we were doing it the correct way of paying sensible and using our scouting network to find hidden gems. but we seem to have discarded our principles and followed what other teams were paying. that was a shock to me. whether we were right to pay a fee for one player only time will tell but we will have to achieve better than last season if we are going to make it pay.....we of course should increase the amount we pay for players each season but to pay a whopping £12 million plus everything that goes with that is a hell of a big jump that goes against the principles of the club.....I bet jinx had an heart attack as i nearly did..
He should be a lot bloody fitter imo Dai. If Richie McCaw can take a 6month sabbatical from all rugby and within 2 half games at most is able to walk back into the New Zealand side as captain, performing to his extremely high standards as usual, then I do not see why Bony isn't match fit yet.
Dont panic, the money was there to be spent. I am sure you yourself were in fact calling for Huw to splash the cash to stop Laudrup walking. Careful planning got us here and it is churlish to think that this summers budget was anything but carefully planned. Keeping hold of our best players after a succesful season is something I cannot remember ever happening to us. Huw has never let us down before and his heart will never rule his head when it comes to the Swans. Every signing we have made this summer has shown me something to give me hope. A more succesful season than last year would be dreamland for us all, but it could easily happen when this team really gels. Dare to dream and it might just come true
Why anyone would judge a player after a handful of games is a mystery to me After a summer of wondering if any of our big names would go I'm chuffed they're all here to be honest Now we have the strongest squad we've ever had in my opinion. Knowing Laudrup I fully expect us now to kick on and improve our league position from last year Everyone knows we can't realistically compete with the big hitters like the Manchester clubs Realistically I would be happy with Bony getting 12-15 league goals and improving on 9th place and of course to do the double over FC Kuala Lumpit
Fit, the guy is playing with an ankle problem, he isn't oing to be playing at his best til that has gone away. Hence the fact other than against United, he hasn't played 90 minutes. Give the lad a chance. Tell you what, if I was a player, and was reading some of the crap posted on here, id be deflated as **** thinking these were the fans that I had to put up with after less than 3 games. God help the boy if he doesn;t score in his next 5 games, can just see it now, there will be a witch hunt.
You really hit the nail on the head. Everyone needs to be realistic when looking at was has been THE toughest start to a season for eons. Surely we cannot be alone in recognising this Dilli? Hopefully there are a rew silent fans who may come out if the woodwork. Emitting positivity and sincere hope will be a far healthier concept for some. I live in hope that this will happen. Swansea Til I Die
I'd like to think we aren't the only ones Swim, I strongly suspect Norway agrees Kicking off now our season is and we took the 3 points we needed on Sunday Next up will be important too, I genuinely believe we should be targeting points from the likes of Liverpool Only problem is the weekend break, I'd have liked to play them this weekend instead Waiting around for games is a pain in the arse
Agree. Faultless work. Shows any future managers Huw is a man of his word. Incredible to have not lost a single player we wanted to keep (ncluding Tiendalli).
Objectively speaking I think we have the best management team for a club of our size. Huw for me is a genius. You only have to look around at other clubs 'our' size to see how lucky we are. Even though it has been a slow start we can , I feel, safely assume we will be pushing top half come the end of the season, Some may argue but I feel the way the club is being handled we can only get stronger. Huw has shown time and time again how astute he is. Eventually we know Laudrup will go but we have taken an even bigger step forward to greater stability than we have ever known before. I for one am glad Huw is in the driving seat as it were. So any naysayer reading this support the Swans don't habitually put the team and management down, you know who you are !
we all have our own opinions i suppose and nobody is right and nobody is wrong. i happen to agree with valley as you cant buy a player for £12 million and expect him not to be in tip top fitness and if laudrup has been playing him with a dodgy ankle then i would question his judgement there....
Hopefully the international break flies by. Even better that the lads come back healthy. Every time we seem to get momentum the break happens. A more paronoid person than me would think its a conspiracy to keep the big boys on top. Taking a break at this time just when the window closes is madness. Supposedly the international side is the cream but it seems more and more like a distraction. Someone in the club needs to start acting like Fergie and pulling players from friendlies at least. Home grown talent sometimes has its problems in a country like Wales. I can imagine the uproar if Bale picks up a bad knock, it would probably be the last time he ever gets released. The Welsh FA are taking liberties with us and Cardiff. Sorry for going off on one/ off tangent
Firstly we should remember we're only three games in Until we've played 10-12 games we'll know where we really are Canas is a player not talked about too much so I must say how well he played Sunday Ki sung will not be missed mark my words because of Canas I'd have him in before JDG On the negative side in the games we've played at times we've tried to walk the bloody ball in the net For crying out loud why don't we shoot some more Five times at least on Sunday I was screaming "shoooooooot" Can someone have a word with our wingers about their service too A few times they had beaten the fullbacks and instead of crossing cut back and laid it back to the full backs to cross Really frustrating at times and I can't understand why they do it Didn't they notice that our 1st goal cam from a Pablo cross on the bloody byline ??? In the second half it was same old until we scored the 2nd goal, great ball down the line turning their fullbacks For a while I thought we were going to blow it and let them in Fortunately we got that 2nd killer goal to kick start our season
Couldn't have put it better myself swim. Usually we only have one or two players involved in these matches but it's more like six or seven now isn't it. No one begrudges players the honours but I'm beginning to favour us in the club versus country debate. Terribly selfish I know.
I was watching the Sky deadline day last night and they had the Posh Chairman on their and they asked him is it manic on transfer deadline day and he said it's unbelievably stressful time with calls from agents talking to chairmen etc. He then gave an example of deadline day, when he had agreed a deal to sell one of his players to us fee agreed etc so all great, then Norwich came on with a bigger bid, he was in a quandary he has to take the biggest bit so tells the player to turn round and head to Norwich an a deal is done. He talks to Huw, and he understands a club like Posh have to take the highest offer, and has no problem with it. Now this part I like he says and I quote "Huw Jenkins should be given Chairman of the Decade for what he has done at Swansea City" his words not mine. That brought a nice glow of pride in the workings of our club. On the Bony front as I mentioned last night will become a great player. He's not match fit, Sunday was his first start, the only way he can get match fit is to get game time. It doesn't help as mentioned he has had slight ankle injury. The lad will get 15 goals this year, so lets just give him time and by the end of this month he will be firing on all cylinders.
DaiSwans - 28th May, 8.13pm It's our third season in the premiership and i know from various sources that Laudrup was very angry behind closed doors with the way we faded away even though he would put on a brave happy face for the cameras....The players had a right ear bashing from him and rightly so....He says he needs at least 6 players for the new season and that will cost around £30 million to get his targets and he and huw had a falling out about money....that is why you see all these little comments like "i hope the club honors their pledge etc etc".....I think laudrup will get what he wants as the board knows laudrup wont be messed around....£30 million is not that much when you think of what we have amassed in the last 3 years and you have to speculate in the premiership to just stay there....Like laudrup said the teams below us will be spending probably more than us and we need to do the same if we want to remain in the top flight... We bought 6 players and loaned 2 and spent £10 million less than Dai was advocating......but he claims now that Huw and co. haven't been prudent enough.....
