Just over 12 months ago Southampton bid £1m for him

Jamie McAllister was a target for the "boo-boys" at one time - he's in the Championship now

Best thing that could have happened for all 3 parties Fontaine needed to be out of the firing line at BS3 his form had dipped consistantly why no one seemed to be able to discover, Bristol City need the cash that moving him out on loan releases from the wage bill, GJ gets a player that if he can rediscover his confidence and form would be an asset, so I think this is a win win win for all concerned. I think Sean was right to say it was untenable at BS3 for Fontaine because everyone was looking for him to make a mistake he needed to be either in the development squad or elsewhere but due to our relatively small squad he had either to play or be on the bench whilst at AG. If he recovers his form and returns to playing well then great, the player he was would be right for the sort of team we are now building. If he is offered a perm transfer to GJ's team equally as good we get the transfer fee and he is off the wage bill this has to be good all round.

    That's really harsh RR.
Have you forgotten that he was an intregal part of the team that not only got us out of L1 (where incidentally we are back in) but got us 1 game from the promised land.
Do you think of all the class of 07/08 like that?
He has had a stinker recently probably not helped by the stick he has had.

That has to go down as one of your daftest comments going RR!

Ender was talking about a man getting abuse when out with his kids. And you come back with sorry disagree! Just because he's been in poor form. What you think someone deserves to get abuse when out with his young family?

    .

Yes, he's consistently struggled for us for the past year, but this club and its fans have a horrendous record of pinning the blame on one person. If we're not blaming players, we're blaming managers we had full trust in months before

    ROD,

This is what i was refering to highlighted above by ender.

The dicks giving him abuse when out with his kids are way out of order ,i do not agree with that at all.

My comment refers to the fact he has been the weak link in the back four for three years now.

How he kept his place in the side was very strange.SOD will take no prisioners to get this football club heading in the right direction.

Sorry Fontaine should have been dropped years ago.
