Utd fan here and this is not a wum. Henderson is a good young player and to be fair given time etc would probably benefit either Liverpool or Utd. However don't think he is worth £18 million plus and to be honest at that price both clubs should stay clear.
For quite a long time now (for at least a year) I've seen Henderson's name being loosely linked with Man Utd, so it is clear tha SAF has had an interest in him for a while - the positive thing about this is that if Man Utd have been keeping tabs on him for a while there must be something about him. The negative thing, on the other hand, is that you have to wonder why SAF hasn't made a move for him. I would conclude that this is because moving for Henderson at the moment is a risk - a risk that, at the moment anyway, SAF is not prepared to take. In terms of transfers and our current squad, Liverpool are in a position where perhaps taking such a risk is what is needed in terms of trying to break back into the top 4. Personally I haven't seen anything special from this guy for him to warrant his price tag. He had a great start to last season but dipped in form after his anonymous debut for England, only really redeeming himself towards the end of the season. He's only 20 years old though and has years to develop to reach the level that the hype surrounding him suggests.
I personally think he would be a great signing and fits perfectly into the new criteria needed. However, the 18.5 mil price tag that is being suggested is crazy. I say 10-12 mil should be more of a realistic amount to pay for a 20 year old who is relatively unproven.
He's English and that makes selling clubs go mad and raise the prices. It's how it is now. I think at least 10 million of Carroll's excessive transfer fee was put directly down to him being English and that seems to be the case now with nearly all English players. Bit silly really.
The fees over young English players is mad. Henderson no doubt has talent but give him a chance. £18 million fee not his fault but surely overpriced and would probably affect his confidence if he didn't hit the ground running.

Leslie Nielson what a man! but on a serious note, 20 million has to be used at it's best, why go for Henderson or young at that price when you can get N'Zog for 10 mil ( and homegrown rule as well) and say Gago or someone like that who is quality but just needs a fresh start? If Ozil can go for around 10 mil to madrid, Sahin for around 10 mil for Madrid then there is a deal out there to be found!
