So we are into our 7th consecutive season in the premier league, gone through 4 different managers and spent millions upon millions of pounds... And yet we still fear relegation.

Why can't we bring a manager in that can give this club a slight bit of success?

I hope PDC can bring us some fortune, but I don't know how long he can keep the dressing room. It's fine to impose a military style strict lifestyle to the players, but if we are losing more than we are winning, the players will question why they are living such lifestyles that is still bringing no success on the pitch.

I think to date, Bruce has had the best team, a forward line of sess gyan & Welbeck, with a midfield that had Cattermole, hendo, zenden & malbronqe, the thought is just mouthwatering.

It's a shame that the crowd got Bruce out, little did they realise what they had.

Lets hope to avoid relegation this year and plough on next year.

If things go drastically wrong with PDC Ellis won't be afraid to step in, and that's what I can see happening unfortunately.. Lets hope our madman can prove the world wrong.

At least he got the players in the first place.. You have to get them to lose them.

Now days its hard for managers to keep their players.

    Fergie couldn't keep ronaldo.

Every player has their price and a world record transfer to real madrid just happens, time and time again

Its something ridiculous like 9 out of the last 10, when they want a player they get him

So you say what's the point in building if you can't maintain in one sentence, and then what's the point in building if you can't maintain in the next?

Bruce built and knocked the house down, fergie built and built and built and built, time after time after time after time.

This conversation has become nonsense so quickly becuase 1. Bruce v fergie and 2. Define building, to me its up

Am I right in thinking you think Bruce should have stayed?

We're paying for Bruce's transfers right now. He signed some class players, but he also spent 6m on Gardner. He gave Brown a four year contract. He signed Bramble. He didn't play Zenden

Bruce was clueless A LOT of the time. 2 full seasons and in both of them we went of awful winless streaks.

We got 10th with Bruce purely because of the team we had, once he lost that team and panicked in the transfer window it became clear how incompetent he was..

You've a good point though, when will we take off?

100m net spend since promotion and we just about stayed up last year

Our squad last season was the 20th most expensively assembled team in Europe.. and we barely stayed up.

Our new style of recruitment is refreshing and is definitely our only chance of 'taking off' imo.

    The crowd got Bruce out?
Silly me thought it was Short sitting there thinking "**** me I've spent all this money and we are still ****."
Bruce was tactically inept and blamed any one and everything for **** performances apart from himself.

Yeah lets bring Bruce back and start games without forwards on, always a recipe for success that.

Our present manager is now a madman?
    How does that work?
Having the balls to speak his mind is now insanity?
All the SAFC supporters on here speak their minds too are they all mad? ( I don't think you qualify for the supporter bit. <ok> )

If it goes tits up for PDC Short wont be afraid to step in? Oh the irony.

Firstly, because I have a different opinion to you, it don't make me any less of a supporter..

Secondly, if you don't think the fans got Bruce out then you are more of an idiot than I thought. How can I club stay up when the fans are calling the manager a fat Geordie bastard?.. Short had to get rid otherwise the club would have been in turmoil.
