I couldn't believe this when I read it fran hence my ironic response.

Just to reassure you Ab Fab is absolutely brilliant in my opinion as is The Vicar of Dibley and Victoria Wood.

Most of all I love One Foot in the Grave because the very lovely Mrs Godders is constantly saying throughout the show "My goodness Victor Meldrew is just like you".

I still don't find little Britain funny. I watched Hot Fuzz once and it took about 30-40 minutes before I smiled. I think I am just an old fart.

I like Tim Vine. Good old fashioned silly, one line gags; just my type if immature humour.

I wasn't a great fan of Ab Fab, but liked the Vicar of Dibley. Catherine Tate was hilarious IMO

    Could not agree more.
It has taken the worse bits of Friends, Miranda, Not going Out and little Britain and added lots of swearing. All of aforementioned comedies I can watch and like yet, MBB is ****e. IMHO

I literally received a phone call from a company who saw my CV on a website and they are "very interested" in talking to me.

What I find surprising is that I stumble across these series, such as Not Going Out, Mrs Brown's Boys, or a variety of other nameless so-called comedies, and I find that they're up around Series 5 or 6 or something of that heady nature. This must mean that they are extremely popular with the viewing public or various TV companies have taken leave of their senses. I feel that I'm more and more marginalised because I thought comedy, of the culture and standard of the above named two, went out of the door in the late 1970's. All they have done is remove the potentially offensive remarks to ethnic minorities, as far as I can see. I did try very hard to watch a whole episode of Not Going Out and I found it entirely mirthless. 5 minutes of Mrs Brown's Boys was almost painful, it was that bad. When was there an announcement that TV comedy was now retreating backwards in time, because I missed that one.

On the other hand, the two series of Episodes have been excellent and I'm glad to see there is a third on the way. South Park also continues to sparkle when I sporadically watch it, and nobody is taking away my QI. Have I got News For You is occasionally hilarious, but for some reason I never look out for it anymore, so I tend to watch Youtube episodes of it, if at all.

Yeah, I love Hot Fuzz, I think it's a fantastic film. One of my favourite comedy films, along with Monty Python etc.
