Right. I would like to know who people think are the biggest supported team in England.

Now imo its Man Utd for obvious reasons. Its a fact.

But some fans, who shall remain nameless, seem to think United are not. Clearly unaware of the fact we have had the highest attendances of any club for decades and are widely regarded as both the best supported world wide and at home.

    Are we in agreement?

Every poll since the late 90s has shown that it's you.

Manchester United are 1st in England. Seems very obvious to me.

Newcastle United are right near the top as well though. In fact, if you take into account average stadium attendances alone, we're third behind Man Utd and Arsenal.

Overall, United then Liverpool, mainly due to the millions of supporters over in Asia. In England it's neck and neck between the two. You look on something like fantasy premier league (2.5million players) and around 300/400 000 are Liverpool and the same for United fans

Keep trying to find a link for the poll of English fans they did in 2008 but it went something like this:

    Man U - 6m fans
    Liverpool - 4m fans
    Arsenal - 3.5m fans
    Chelsea - 1.9m fans
    Tottenham - 1.4m fans
    Newcastle - 1.2m fans
    Leeds - 1.1m fans
    Villa - 1m fans
    Everton - 1m fans
    Man City - 900k fans

As an unbiased football fan, I think United are well ahead of Liverpool even in England. Things like fantasy premier league ratings and so on don't really mean much at all.

Also, based on website hits, the top clubs are (IIRC)

    Man U
    Liverpool
    Arsenal
    Tottenham
    Leeds
    Newcastle
    Chelsea

Make of that what you will.

I wish Leeds were back in the Prem. With such a large following and fan base, you feel that it's where they belong, especially over some of the ****ty boring teams already here.

It must be hard for liverpool fans.

I mean clearly their world is crumbling around them. they hold NO records of note ( league cup ), are not as well supported as they think, are disliked and the brunt of many a joke around the world and have a shocking team just now.

I sort of feel their pain and then I remember who they are.

United19Red, You really are an ignorant twat. You're the kind of nob jockey who fuels these pathetic wum debates. You even start here, without being provoked by a Liverpool fan. You're as obsessed with Liverpool as KPR is with United. As for the record, I'd say 5 European cups is a pretty good record to hold in the UK.

    Ignorant of what exactly?

i have simply corrected some delusional liverpool fans.

You hold no actual records. You are the most successful english club in europe but there are clubs in europe more successful than you so is it a record? Its a very selective one at best.

Your 5 European cups is a great achievement - i'm not disputing that, or belittling it.

    But I don't see how it's a UK record.
Surely the only important record is the "overall winners in Europe".
It's kind of like Arsenal saying we hold the record for the most League titles in London. It means nothing.

Just my opinion, not trying to start.
