Yeah I've never really been anywhere too culturally shocking. I'm not really sure what to expect but looking forward to the experience.

If any of you would be willing to support this at all I would be most grateful.

Ruth Blandford is fundraising on JustGiving for Arrhythmia Alliance

Stan died suddenly of a heart attack earlier this year, and was found by his 16 year old son whilst waiting for a lift to school. The family is raising money for a defibrillator in the local village, of which had one been locally available at the time may have saved Stan's life. Ruth, Stan's wife, is doing a sponsored skydive later this month. Stan was was a good friend of mine, hence the plug. Cheers

OK, I caved in. Rome: Total War purchased at £4.79 inc P&P. Could be the start of quite a cosy winter. Don't know how the guitar practice is going to hold up, as I usually pick it up again when the nights begin to draw in.

Good man. I'd play for a while on default settings before dabbling in the world of mods. You can get a ton of playing time out of that game before it gets repetitive.

I practice my guitar when I get up in the morning, and when I'm watching TV when there's nothing particularly good on. If only I had four arms so I could practice and post on Not606 at the same time. :(

There's a very good video/audio on Youtube of Dr Michio Kaku in a Q/A session on the subject of the so-called Moon Landing Hoax. With each confident doubter he calmly explains away their damning points with the application of logic, physics and charm.

That's such a good game! I've always loved Age of Empires and games like that.

And women aren't allowed comedies that appeal to them? I like Miranda and enjoyed the Vicar of Dibley. However, I also like male comedians...including the maligned Michael McIntyre. There is a lot of humour on tv that I don't like, but I accept that some people like courser humour than me...I just don't watch it. Something for everyone.

In case you hadn't noticed, Godders was being tongue-in-cheek. He likes those comedies and comedians. I would also add Ronni Ancona and Sandi Toskvig. Sandi herself makes a very convincing and amusing explanation of why women aren't funny.

My apologies if you were carrying on the tongue-in-cheek idea, Fran, and I was the one not getting it.

No, you weren't getting the wrong idea. Must have joined in late in the conversation. I do think good female comedians are rarer than male ones...but I also get fed up with the ones around being slated. If you don't like something, don't watch it. And there are a wide range of comedies on TV and too many people say something is rubbish just because it doesn't tickle their funny bones. Apologies if I misunderstood.
