Thought as much - won't be on those wages here.

2 players I am really surprised that we - or anyone else of note in the championship - are not linked with are Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and David Bentley.

Worth a punt on short term contracts at least imho.

SEB is recovering from a broken leg hence lack of movement

If he did sign for anyone he couldnt come straight into the team

As far as I can see LC have been trimming the wage bill down so this Doyle/Waggy move seems abit of a waste of time & money.

The rumour that has been circling pretty much all summer (around Suffolk atleast) is that Mick McCarthy will be reunited with SEB again as he's on a free and has moved back to Cambridge to be closer to his family which would make us a favorite to sign him if anyone does. Apparently him and Mick get on very well so would seem to make some sense... unless it's just some more lazy journalism

Like the link Fosse posted, it could be because Doyle doesn't want the paycut, so we dodged a bullet really, sounds like hes more interested in the money than the chance of higher league football.

The most I would pay for Doyle would be around 10K a week. The loan window opens next week so maybe we will try again for Doyle

Michael Kightly ended up at Burnley so thats ones dead and buried

He doesn't score enough to justify that kind of outlay I'm afraid

I agree, he's more of a Vardy/Nugent than an out and out goalscorer.

I think Nugent is a rich mans Doyle.
