I don't just mean with us because I don't think that we've made any except not getting rid of Ade and getting another striker in. Chelsea should have sold Torres. Ozil to Arsenal I'm not sure will work. Fellaini to Utd is average but I don't think loans work for Man U and if C*ntrary has gone there then I see it as a mistake. City haven't strengthened enough although I don't really know their signings and I think Pool should have done more because I don't think Sturridge will maintain this form. Thoughts.

and not signing a left back, signing far too many players but still not signing a left back, having danny rose and fryers as our left back options <whistle>

Your not sure Ozil will work out at Arsenal? He's a perfect fit, typical Wenger type player. And he is one of the best in the World, he could go to any team and be a success.

He is a great player but I think it was a signing to please the fans then someone you really needed! I think you have left yourself dangerously short in a couple of areas squad wise!

A strange day yesterday. Was weird hearing very few rumours our end.

Ozil is a fantastic signing for arsenal, but he's not going to solve their squad issues. Arsenal needed to do more business in this window and to be honest, I think it was a bit of a "pressure" signing. They are far more Desperate for another striker, a DM and a CB. But instead, they added to an area where they are already strong.

Not quite sue how to sum up united's transfer window. I can't remember them ever doing business so late. I don't think the one signing is enough for them.

I think we have signed some very good players. Not worldies but as good as the other good players in our squad. The problem so far have been talked about extensively ie time to gel (Chelsea and city took a couple of years) and creating real chances (walkers rubbish crosses don't count)

Arsenal have signed a qlty player (not cheap but utd have built squads buying players like him each year) but I don't see how they can accommodate
    ozil
    arteta
    rosicky
    Wilshire
    Ramsey
    arteta
    diaby
    Flamini
    Cazorla

Unless with pod out, Walcott is used as a striker with cazorla and ozil on either side. Could work.

I'd say it was a mistake letting Bernard go to Shakhtar as I think we'd defeinitely have paid the money for him had he been available later in the window. Only a minor grievance though and we got some good business done early on, again, before we were rudely interrupted by Real going for our best player, again.

The other mistakes were burning bridges with Ade and Benny. BAE is far too good to be playing in the Championship and what happens to Ade now? He's been alienated by AVB but we haven't been able to sell him. At somepoint he's going to have to come back to proper training and even play for us again.

Far too many positives to get bogged down complaining about signings that didn't happen. We started the window needing a new striker, a new dm, a new centre mid and a new winger(or two). We got all those and more with even more quality than I could've expected. I don't think we can complain about finishing the window only needing another left back, it's definite progress.

Arsenal have done very well to sign a World Class player in Ozil but as others have said, they still have a number of gaps in their squad, Ramsey has improved by being played back in his natural position again rather than pushed out to the left wing for no reason and that's a position they badly needed to improve on. Cazorla isn't suited to that role either so I think they've missed a trick there.

United haven't really solved anything either, their wingers are extremely hit and miss but they've decided to buy an attacking midfielder instead which is not where they need strengthening as they already have Rooney and Kagawa who can play there.

City have probably done the best business, making a strong squad even stronger.

Chelsea still have a shortage of numbers in defence but a ridiculous amount of attacking midifielders. Time will tell whether Eto'o can improve their striker situation and it will be interesting to see how he does.

Only mistake I see is not replacing Benny with an option. Well to be honest I'd rather Benny not have gone on loan but I know there's a split opinion on him.

    Apart from that, superb window.

Ade being here isn't so much a problem, him as a 2nd/ 3rd choice is a good option. It's just financially it's a waste having a £100k a week player on the bench/ in reserve.

There will always be mistakes. Even brilliant people only get about 60% of close decisions right.

I share your opinion on Utd ROO totally. Ozil didn't want to leave Real which makes me think that he won't give all to the goons. Surely it's better to buy a player who wanted to leave than one by reluctance.

Rose does indeed now seem out of place and Coentrao would have been a perfect fit and I agree with all the opinions about Arsenal but not sure about Ozil.

Yes Yid,Utd have solved nothing. I won't mention Ade because it's old hat. We did better this time than last January which was clearly inadequate. I think Sunday was a minor setback and we'll see that we've done good business.

Willian to Chelsea??????????????????????. Not sure it'll work.

If Spurs had signed Ozil you'd be screaming from teh rooftops, it is quite simply the best signing of the summer and no mater how you try to play it down he is World Class and would improve any team in the world.

@Thor - If you read his quotes it isn't quite as simple as "he didn't want to leave madrid". And i have no doubt he will give his all to the club - think your clutching at straws there.

I agree with some of the others posting though that Arsenal didn't quite improve on all the areas needed. We did get a GK, a back-up DM and a World Class AM to improve our first 11, plus a youth striker. But we needed to add a TOP striker (which i think we will now try to do in January) and possibly a utility defender to provide cover at the back (although this isn't as urgent as Flamini can cover the FB's and Sagna at CB). It'll be interesting to see how we cope if we lose another few players to injury though.

When everyone is fit we have a fantastic match-day squad. I think we will see more movement from Arsenal in January though, particularly if we pick up anymore injuries.

Are you suggesting we should be screaming from the rooftops because you signed a player?

I was shocked by that. One of my Spurs mates was crying out for a left back. I don't rate Rose but he'll have to do a job until January at least.

Two mistakes I can see are not getting another left back and letting Tom Carroll go to Harry. He should stay here and get some game time with other 'proper footballers' as Harry calls him

I didn't want Tom going to the Championship but the only good thing I'll say about him going QPR is that we've had two on loan there before - Walker and Townsend - who eventually returned as first teamers/ strong squad players (Walker after his Villa one though... But earned rave reviews at QPR).
