i'm not blaming Moyes for this, i'm going to blame Woodward for his crap bids for players like Fabregas, Baines, Fellaini ( WE'VE GOT HIM NOW ) and many more, we should've done our business at the end of the season not on deadline day, rushing around etc. I want Woodward to quit the club but he won't, he 's a yes man to the Glazers.

With you all the way. You can bet your house on it that Moyes would have had his shopping list ready my mid July, and had David Gill been in charge, his top choices would have been bought before mid august. All in secrecy with no fuss, and all training ready for the new season. I don't share all the negative tripe about the side going downhill, but if your paid to do a professional job, then do it PROFESSIONALLY!

Fellaini will be fine, shame we missed out on Baines, not too miffed about Fabrigas, but Ozil would have been very useful.

No way is Woodward worse than Ivan Gazidis, get a sense of perspective. You may suck this year, but we've sucked hard for 5 years. Once you've sucked at transfers for ages, then people will feel sorry for you.

"BBC Sport has learnt that Manchester United did submit their paperwork for their season-long loan deal for Fabio Coentrao before the 2300 BST deadline. But the move will only go ahead if both United and Real Madrid entered the correct details of the deal on Fifa's new transfer matching system. The deadline for that system closed at midnight."

He's negotiated some nice sponsorship deals for you. And as i said, once you've sucked at transfers for 5 seasons in a row, then feel free to complain.

Spoilt brat. Fellaini is a good player and the exact type of player you lack, you don't need a technical player like Fabregas/Modric when you have Carrick, you lacked a physical midfielder who adds power, strength and height and great aerial ability, he will compliment Carrick perfect and can also play further forward if needed, just because it wasn't some big household name for £££ doesn't mean you should throw your toys out the pram and whine like a little bitch, look at the actual situation and you've just filled some of what you need.

    Matth's just upset, and cranky.

It is pretty dumb that we waited til deadline day to sign Fellaini when there was a clause in his contract we could have triggered 2 months ago to not only get him for a cheaper price, but given him time to get situated with the team.

Not sure why we're trying to bring in Contraeo though, he's not better than Evra, but he'd probably get more playing time at Madrid. That is unless Moyes has a reason to drop Evra to the bench.

Seems odd to me that Utd are trying to get a full back on loan, especially when Utd has several left backs and Utd are trying to ship Buttner out on loan. 'kin bizarre. Can't remember the last time Utd got a player in on loan.

Too much stress, Sir David will, use what he has got this season, then get his players in after the world cup.

ironic, anyway...... many of our fans have felt like this for weeks, i'm in the same boat, we should've kept Gill for at least another year, he could've helped Woodward.

Matth I did say for a while now we would be lucky to sign anyone including Fellaini. Don't get me wrong I've said we needed him but the club have been a total joke since July 1st. Woodward boasted that Utd had money to spend and the termination of his stay on Utd's summer tour of Australia to conduct 'urgent transfer business' back in Europe fuelled expectations of Fabregas or Ronaldo coming to OT. However that turned out to be the wrong.

We still are not really that clear about Thiago. Some say Utd put in an offer, the lad himself says no. Moyes meanwhile it is claimed, rejected the chance to sign Thiago and maybe in reality we were never going to sign him because of the Guardiola connection. Nevertheless regardless of the truth, we were left without a creative CM.

The Telegraph have claimed that Moyes was 'dissuaded from pursuing Luka Modric'. The only person that could mean is Woodward. They go further and said that Moyes 'protected his boss by insisting that progress was being made and deals would be done.' Interesting choice of words from Mark Ogden. Words I fear are correct and an approach David Moyes wishes he hadn't take.

The entire Fabregas pursuit saga was frankly embarrassing and an example of how not to do business. I think it is with the Fabregas fiasco we can begin to see the problems of Woodward's transfer policy (of lack of). Moyes at the beginning of his tenure at OT, said that he would not be talking about other players from rival clubs. Sounds good, keep our rivals guessing over our targets and is also respectful plus it allows Utd some face saving if a deal falls through. However we then saw a sudden u-turn with Moyes now talking about Fabregas almost on a daily basis to the press. I honestly believe that this change in talking about Fabregas to the media, was a deliberate ploy to unsettle the lad and one instigated by the Utd hierarchy and not the manager. However it didn't work with the player failing to push for a move, which to be honest, wasn't that much of a surprise since he had done so much to force a move from Arsenal, so a transfer back to England seemed pretty unrealistic. Maybe in this instance, Moyes has to take some blame for continuing to go along with Woodward in flogging a dead horse.

Then onto the sheer and utter ridiculous with Woodward now bidding substantially below the market value for Baines and Fellaini and angering Everton in the process. Yes, it wasn't Utd who released the details of the bid (reversing the earlier strategy employed over Fabregas) but nevertheless the amount being quoted were clearly never going to persuade Everton to allow their two best players to leave. Critics have accused Moyes of dithering in transfers, but I believe it has more to do with the penny-pinching of Woodward that led to Utd failing to trigger Fellaini’s £23 million escape clause in July and incredibly being forced to offer substantially more on deadline day just to get the deal through on time to avoid a public row with Moyes.

I'm not even going to begin to talk about Ozil, Herrera and Coentrao less I throw my lap top off the wall in anger! <grr>

Moyes has a decade worth of experience in securing players at this level but as Mark Odgen has put it 'the word within the football industry was that Woodward was learning the hard way that buying players was a wholly different ball game to selling shirt space and sponsorship deals to companies across the globe.' I think we can see that being promoted from within Utd from being the head of the clubs commercial operation by the Glazer family was a step to far, since Woodward has dramatically failed over the last 3 months to buy the players Moyes no doubt informed him about.

Utd have been left looking totally and utterly stupid because of a man who is quite clearly out of his depth. The Glazers most take some responsibility here for allowing a man with no knowledge of football such a pivotal role in signing players. While I believe Utd will finish in the top 3, I hope the Glazers don't forget that the higher you finish means more money. Failure to strength our midfield enough could have an effect on our ability to challenge at the top especially when you see that our rivals have not stood still.

I agree withe very word you said there, if Woodward hadn't of said we've got money to spend, then maybe we would've got deals done quicker than we did.
