. . . Diana Nyad has completed the Cuba to USA swim, without a shark cage, after around 53 hours of swimming at 64 years of age - 110 miles. Her first, of 5 attempts, was in 1978 and she just refused to be beaten. What an incredible woman and a big example of how to persevere against the odds. Well done
I was following her progress yesterday - amazing achievement, but it's a bit mental. Why on earth would anyone put themselves through that?
