Coentrao would be very annoying if that goes through - although again, they have Evra who is quality and the Coentrao move is supposedly only a loan.

I think Man United might not be too far away from us this season. If van persie get's injured they could be looking vunerable.

Man Utd are very similar to us at the moment in that the forward and the midfield are separated.

Man Utd have Kagawa but seem intent on not playing him - very bizarre.

We at least signed Eriksen and Lamela - if we can't get some creativity out of those 2 and link up with the striker then yeah... sadface.

Look at the difference we (QPR) made to Walker & Townsend. You should be pleased he's with us hopefully getting first team football. Shame you realised how good Andros is before we could sign him again!!

Well the window is over for us.

Gotta say I'm glad to see the back of it - it's been very un-Spurs like in that it's been relentless from start to finish. Constant rumours of ins and outs. Big money moves ins and 1 very big one out.

Don't have to keep refreshing my phone checking for updates anymore now either <laugh>

Great window though - regardless of other teams efforts - if you'd taken a look at the front page at the start of the window you'd have liked it.

In all my time supporting Spurs I cannot think of another player who has had anything like the impact of Bale. It's all just left me numb but another first for Spurs, world record fee for a player. It'll be a while before it's bettered.

Have to say that with all the rumours, glad we still have Defoe. We need his energy and commitment. Scored many important goals for us down the years.

Not sure why he'd want to board a sinking ship.

I'm also amazed that Niko's gone back to Harry <laugh>

They should be some side to watch.

Maybe he'll go in for Charlie and Pav in the next window too ?

(that's not a dig at harry by the way <ok> )

I listen to 606 on the way home on Saturday and all the utd fans have been calling up saying they aren't interested in Felliani, it was baines they wanted, and fellani is best at playing behind a striker when he was awesome last year, be interesting to see how he fits into their midfield alongside carrick? as he can't play further forward as Utd have too many options.

I was under the impression Chichires can play LB? That'd be all of Vertonghen, Rose, Naughton and Chichires who can play there. Saying that I'd rather play Friedel at LB than Naughton.

While Im not massively keen on Rose at LB he isn't a bad first choice. Wouldn't say he's much better or worse than Gibbs, cant say I'm too worried about the LB situation. To be totally honest I know he isn't much use going forward from LB but defensively I'd be more than happy with Verts moving across fulltime (or till January) and having a combination of Chichires, Kaboul or Dawson in the middle.

Ekotto was very unreliable and clearly something has happened between him and AvB - whether its AVB or Benny's fault, doesn't really matter. I'd put Rose on a par with him anyway so while it would be nice to keep hold of him on of him and AVB clearly wanted him to go.

I'm more concerned about what happens if Soldado is injured and Defoe is going through one of his couldn't-hit-a-barn-door phases.

  20. Whether or not you are a Benny 'fan', loaning him to QPR makes no sense to me at all.

    1. From a playing perspective, he is still one of the best 3/4 LB's in the PL and head and shoulders above Rose. Naughton is not a LB at the best of times. Fryers is too inexperienced to be considered as a full time PL LB yet.
    2. Based on the above, if sold, rather than loaned out, Benny would still command a decent transfer fee - certainly a profit on the original outlay. However, a season long loan to a 2nd tier club at the age of 29 - he wil be 30 when he returns - will see that value plummet.
    3. If, as has been reported, he has been some sort of non-compliant disruptive influence in the dressing room, then why retain his services at all?

Disappointed to see him go - and think we will live to regret the decision. Just hope that my lack of faith in Rose is unfounded or that Fryers becomes the finished article in weeks rather than years!!

    Oh well........
