Based on current form, we need these players playing with a hooped jersey on now.

Whether these players stay beyond January is another matter, but it's the right decision for right now.

Unexpectedly for me...Barton really did not make any noise to get a move, which I really thought was his plan.
I think he really is in it for the ride. Surprised and delighted

Would you play Barton as a defensive midfielder? Because thats the only postion he could get in the team if the others are fit and on form.

Not sure. Leave it to Harry Redknapp to sort out.

Exactly..................he wouldn't get in my first choice team now and it would be close between Carroll and Kranjcar for the attacking midfielder spot.

    -------------------------Green----------------------
    Simpson----------Onuoha--------Dunne----------BOE
    ----------------Henry---------Faurlin----------------
    Hoilett------------Carroll or Kranjcar----------Phillips
    -----------------------Austin-----------------------

What nonsense! Carroll and Krancjar have yet to show us anything. yet Barton has proved to be not only our best player, but he's also created more chances to score than anyone else in the league. Some of his passing has been sublime this year. Faurlin in instead of him, based on what form? Idiots......

totally agree, we have 13 pts from 5 games and people are dropping players , hilarious.

We added some quality to already the strongest squad, A proven LB and some midhield creativity, just missing one more striker imo. I think we might go to 4-2-3-1 but only in certain games.

Only shame on yesterday we did not shift Tarore or Cesar. I hope we stick with Green.

And let's not forget the important fact that he's one player who runs and tackles all day long, yet he never gets injured(touch wood). Compare that with almost everyone else in the team......

That's right w9, if we drop green now, it will have the potential to undo all the hard work that's been put into team building, spirit and togetherness that's helped us get those results! I can't see a way back for Cesar now....

Barton should start because he has prove that he is class in this league. Carroll is going to be a star and Krancjar WAS croatian star player.

Agree with Sku, Barton, Hoilett and AJ have all been quality this season and I don't see too many sudden changes being made. We now have the missing ingredient, vision, which will be provided by Kranjcar and Carroll will benefit from playing with the Croatian who is a class act. Remember we are playing in the Championship where the grit shown by Barton, Henry and O'Neill goes a long way, Harry just has to get the balance right...

Barton starts because he's been absolutely fundamental to our success so far this season.

Green, Ned, Barton and Austin are the spine of the Team and I expect them to start every match.

The one game Faurlin had a chance to shine in was the Swindon game and he was pony. Barton has to be in the middle; even if he isn't playing terrifically well, he's still causing an impact on the oppositions game with his presence and work rate.

They will all lose form at one time or another, remember when Barton was so bad he was booed off? Point of having a good squad is competition, all players should be on their toes all the time. Having said that Ned and Austin look pretty safe, no real competition for their places.

I'm looking forward to Cesar putting Green under real pressure. Green's done well so far, but he's one of those blokes who does not inspire confidence in me. Then again I was brought up on Phil Parkes, everybody looks dodgy compared to keepers of his generation.

As long as he is in form, JB should stay in the team. Feed any new players in as fit/required/tactics - no other reason.
However, HR has always liked to put his own preferred players in. I don't agree with that - to gel the best way, we can put new players in from the bench and let them win their starting spot. Otherwise, it's... "Ain't broke, don't fix it". 13 from 15 points means players deserve their starting spots.

Fair point about form, but if I've read your post correctly (and Rangercol's) you're suggesting that there's no place for Barton in the starting XI, which given his performances seems completely unjustified.

As for Green, question marks will always remain but I'd still start him over Cesar, not least for his ability to communicate and deal with crosses, both of which seem vital.

But we'll see what happens, I guess.

I'm sorry but I can't help but think it's silly to put Barton towards the top of the list for inclusion on the team sheet. He's possibly our best player and will be one of the best players in the league if he plays enough for us.

That's not mentioning anything about his personality, though.

Nico has hardly set the Ukraine on fire in his time there and does not walk into a QPR team on day one guaranteed to tear the championship apart. Faurlin in ahead of Barton after their respective performances this term - not a chance.

Is Barton a defensive midfielder? If not he has serious competition from technically better players. In fact I don't know what position is his best, vaguely right somewhere I'd guess.

But you should ignore any comments from me on Barton. I'm not the 'hating' type, but I have a serious dislike of him as a human being, which clouds my judgement on his merits as a player. I can honestly say even if he was as good as Messi I would still want him out of the club immediately. And it irritates me to see how many people on here can ignore the embarrassment and discord he has caused us, let alone the physical damage he has inflicted on other human beings, simply because they think he will help us win a couple of football matches. Heightened by the fact that many of those who now think the sun shines out of his arse were ready to string him up not so long ago.

Still a chance he could be loaned out I suppose....:emoticon-0105-wink:
