The three games I've seen have given me confidence that we've got a decent chance of staying up. Ok we've only scored one goal but give the guys a break ffs. If Graham can keep onside more than he can offside he'll score goals. Aluko should have scored but didn't end of! Don't write us off at this stage of the season. We're in the Premier League so get behind the lads and enjoy the ride. The pressure will be on those clubs that have spent a fortune. I think we'll still surprise a few people and I'm not panicking at his early stage, there's no point.

Wise words indeed I have never seen a Hull City team this good and I have been watching them for a very long time and if we go down, so what, we are rubbing shoulders with some of the finest players in the world right now and I never thought I would get to see that

Those three games were crucial as they defined were we needed to strengthen and I don't believe we have.

I think we're already down. 2 losses, no goals scored* and 4 conceded in 3 games. We look a good side in midfield but we just can't get the ball in the bag and couldn't defend rorkes drift from some old dairy cattle, the residents of a nursing home and a small dog either.

Chester is looking very suspect and Elmo has been ****ing awful. Brady looks very nervous and not even a quarter of the player he really is, hopefully he'll get over the fact he's in the big time now but nothing's forgone. McGregors Scottish, Boyd looks out of his depth, Quinn looked fantastic the other day but technically is very limited.

The only genuine quality we have is Davies, Figueroa, Huddlestone, Livermore, Koren, Aluko and Graham. Not enough.

Spot on. Although as many have said, its been difficult to judge the strikers we do have during those 3 games as 2 were against champions league quality teams and the other we had 10 men for most of the game.

I don't know why some on here bother. I would have bitten their hand off if we'd been offered 3 points and a goal difference of -3 after our 1st 3 games. We've a lot stronger squad than we had in the season we got relegated. FFS just enjoy it while it lasts.

Much too early to judge yet, but we've beaten the team we needed to beat and lost against the ones that we were expected to so on that basis I am hopeful we would stay up.

Too true. You have to wonder if some of these people were watching us let in 5 goals qt home against Crewe, losing to the likes of Hednesford in the Cup and considering a win against Scarborough something worth celebrating.
I can imagine they are the type who sit in silence demanding to be entertained and see a goal before they can raise any support before leaving 5 minutes before the end.

I've been there and seen it all, but it means nothing. On that logic we should be happy to see us lose 38/38.

And who is this imposter Stan The Man? Hang him.

realistically we could only be one point better off, there are some right doomsday merchants on here who seem to relish being proved right that we are somehow **** when in fact we are clearly not...

But the fact remains that you need to score goals to stay up & I'm not sure we have a prolific enough strikeforce

We've done a lot better than most people would have expected. We've gone into matches and played with a sense of intent rather than parking the bus like most teams do. If we lose games fighting rather than admitting defeat straight from the first whistle then if we go down, we can say we went down fighting and playing well.

3 points from the first 3 games is a good return and a GD of -3 isn't too shabby either. Defence is going to be a major factor in our fight for survival this year and so far I'm very impressed. We've conceded 4 in 2 games against arguably two of the best teams in the Premier League & Europe with some lethal players in their arsenal.

If we go into every game with the desire to fight and attack, I'm pretty sure we'll take some by surprise and get some pretty decent results. I am fairly optimistic about our chances this Season.

Top posts these 2 ^^^^ well said. We have proved that we can live at this level and with Gedo now on board he will add some goals. I also expect the others to chip with a few. It is looking very good for at ldeast 15th place.

As for 2 of the 4 goals that have been conceeded they came from free kicks that were not free kicks. I am well happy with the results so far and we ended August out of the relegation zone. That will do for me.

Cardiff and Newcastle are very winnable and to have 3 wins from our first 5 fixtures would be good and well within us.

To the whingers lets remember who two of the sides we played were, to only concede two goals against teams of that quality is acceptable for any bottom half team, let's assess where we are after the next 3 league matches - against teams we could be judged on the same level as, Newcastle away is a winnable 3 points for one (and hopefully we will see the back of the "best director of football in the country" after that match) .

We have played Man City and Chelsea away, there are not games we are expected to score in, and we where expected to get hammered. Both games we lost a respectable 2-0 and had chances in one to draw it. Against Norwich with 11 men we looked very dangerous, yet with ten men we didn't so much as we had to defend. I bet you we would of scored more than 1 if we had 11 for the full game. It is far to early to judge anything yet, for all we know Sagbo could bag 25 goals.

No one's doubting we've had a good start and look a good side.

People are pissed that we didn't sign a striker, after showing we were prepared to spend (relatively) big money on one. If SB had pretended he didn't want a striker I'd have trusted his judgement but the fact we went for one makes it more disappointing we didn't sign one. Especially as fans who can't understand why clubs would miss the transfer deadline to bring players in when the window was open for two months at least. We're now left with only Graham and maybe Gedo as serious striker options.
