so what, I'm not bothered about Long, he isn't an out & out striker as said, Gedo is a more natural scorer & Carlton Cole on a FAT isn't out of the question if Bruce thinks we don't have enough
Ok you're being intentionally thick now so I give up. Also: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ted-West-Brom-pull-plug-switch-Hull-City.html
A good article.... "with the season-long loan of midfielder Gedo who returns to the club having helped them earn Premier League promoiton last season."
I don't understand why we didn't sign Bendtner for £2m and £50k wages instead of messing about with Long for £5m and £40k wages. Earlier we could have signed Bendtner although at the last minute Arsenal maybe didn't want to sell. Long has one year on his deal so WBA should have sold at £5m. Bent was another good deal. We haven't got a striker of the quality we needed. We have nobody but ourselves to blame. This last minute game playing can go wrong so easily and it will cost us dearly. Let's hope we do our deals on 1 January rather than make fools of ourselves on 31 January.
It's all just a tad daft, as Brom now have a player who will feel more than a tad peeved at being used in a very cynical way; the business was left too late and covered no-one in glory. I would have taken Long, but would rather have had Odemwinge who has now bolstered an already decent Cardiff squad. Gedo is here and he now has a big chance to make his name, so good luck to the lad. Connor makes another sensible step- up in his progression to top-flight football, good luck to him as well. Our owners/admin team are new to this malarkey and I think it showed, but hey-ho, in the scale of things, I can live with them learning their business at Hull City AFC! Wiil we see a podgy Stewart back in January? It was clear where the focus had to be yesterday, so some out next week - at least we have an abundance of wannabe PL forwards; who would ever have thought it? Carlton Cole anyone
I hate that Martini bloke at Everton...I hope City tear him a new arsehole. Had to stick his Spanish beak into our business.
The failure in bringing Long to the KC overshadows the fantastic signings that Steve Bruce has already managed to bring in. I actually prefer Gedo to Long. Gedo is a player who has a real need to succeed and he will develop. The fact that Long was considered surplus at West Brom worries me. Gedo will have to work at his fitness, but we saw that he has desire and an eye for the goal. He is no Aluko but he will give some defences a hard time.
I don't know if anyone has asked this already - is the option of a further year on Shane Long's contract down to West Brom, or Long? That is - can he refuse the option?
Can see long been loaned out to a championship side when the window opens up if tensions stay high between long and clarke. Sad really even wba fans not happy with the way its been handled.
Some people, Long is a grown man FFS! He's not going to have a vendetta with Steve Clark as if he'd just raped Longs mother. In the bottom. Put yourself in Longs shoes, he just has an IOU from Clark. If I was in his shoes I'd be like "you owe me time and money motherfucker. You can clean my oven tonight bitch. Tomorrow you can pay for an Indian ten clean the bog"
This has panic buy all over it. My theory is that we lost out on our main targets and Bruce started to panic and made a bid for Long. The offer of £5m probably incorporated some of January's funds. There is no way Long is worth £5m. #DodgedABullet
What don't people like you get about the transfer market. It's not about panic buying its about timing if we went for Long 2 weeks ago it gives WBA time to think about it and other clubs then have a great chance to hijack the deal and cause bidding wars, whereas by forcing your hand on deadline day it puts the selling club in a yes or no position and gives other potential suitors less of a chance to hijack. Not panic buying at all.
Nice logic there, but had this £5m been available earlier, there have been far better players moving for that kind of money.
