I suppose it depends how good Chiriches turns out to be Roo. We may need to play centre backs out of position to accommodate them all. Not everyone will agree but I rate Benny higher as a left back than Vertonghen.
That crossed my mind but a) he doesn't want to play at LB regularly and b) he's far better centrally. It wouldn't be the best decision by AVB if he did in terms of building the squad but I'd prefer Verts at LB than Rose!

Kaboul can get up and down. The game he got injured a couple of years ago, where hutton came on for him at half time and scored, kaboul had spent the first half covering the whole right flank.

If AVB insists on sticking to his 4-3-3 formation, especially with 2 holding midfielders as Capoue/Sandro and on recent evidence, Paulinho seems more defensive than I would have expected, we need wing play and that can only come from the full backs now. Chadli doesn't look like providing much and Townsend can't be our only option. Let's hope Lamela and Eriksen turn out to be as good as the hype suggests!
Jan is very good at LB but miles better at CB. So I hope not. Shaw/ Criscito/ Baines/ Coentrao... Surely we can get one of them?! Probably too late now actually.
I love an atttacking full back but not sure I want to see anymore of Danny rose and his hip swivel Lol But walker I actually want to stay in the team, I just hope he becomes more aware of his defensive duties, although its probably too late to learn how to defend,
It's ridiculous that they can spend over £100 million net in one transfer window and nothing happens about it.
I think Walker has actually been a lot better this season defensively. I was probably his biggest critic last season so for me to saying this he must be doing something right lol. Still needs to work on his crossing but I think he's been a far cry from the **** we saw last season.
