I actually think this is bad news for us because the last thing we need is Wes flying half way across the world to play in silly little games

Jermaine Beckford also plays for Jamaica now

Born in Nottingham but obviously somewhere there is Jamaican links in his family

 

Wes is short for Westley - is a common Jamaican name so definitely has Jamaican heritage.

Good for him, I remember cheering for the Reggae boys in the 1998 World Cup - although they have done bugger all since.

Presumably he had been approached to play for them before and he has turned them down or something?

 

Strange one.

You'd think he'd have played for them 100 times by now.



Congratulations none the less. Chuffed for him, he absolutely deserves the chance to play on the international stage.

 

I think its more to the fact he has only made himself available recently or Jamaica have only found out his is eligible for them
