I agree Ozil is not a priority and probably over priced but this is what happens when you leave business to the last second. Very rarely does a great deal like VDV happen. Lot more Torres, Carroll, Berbatoff type over paying. To think for that money they would have got Higuain (In a position they actually needed to fill) and had money to spare. Wenger has ****ed up this window and the signing (whilst a good signing) smacks of a little desperate.
The players oddly get a say in where they go, do you not think Madrid would've already tried the makeweight approach seeing as they tried everything else, Ozil nor Di Maria wanted to come here, only Coentrao, and he only has us in mind as a last resort. I would imagine that is the reality of the situation.

Now I know it will depend on many factors, but it's already 4.30pm. The last 2 transfer windows have seen us miss our on moutinho and damiao as we run out of time. I remember those deals "gathering pace" at about 5-6pm. How much longer have we realistically got before we have to face reality that we're not going to sign anyone? - well, someone from abroad anyway. What are your thoughts lads? Time is kicking on....

I don't think none of us will ever truly know how long signings can take. Moutinho was done 5 times over and then all of a sudden... It wasn't. But then Rafa seemed to have got done within an hour. I still think we'll see one more come in. It's just not Levy-like to stay quiet on summer deadline day.
Players get a say to a point but I would guess Ozil is pretty much being pushed to Arsenal to recoup some Bale money. Why else would he leave the biggest club in the world to go to Arsenal? Certainly wont be for money or honours.
