It depends how much you overspend to how much your fined, but you have to pay a percentage of what you overspend in fines that then gets distributed to the clubs in the league that met FFP. I can't remember the thresholds, but say £8m is the highest, they would have to pay an £8m fine which would then get given to other clubs in the league. If they don't get promoted, they're strengthening rivals the next season.
Last year we made a loss of 30M. If we make a loss of 30M when FFP kicks in and we get promoted we would get a fine of 22M because your only allowed to make a loss of 8M per season
@PJBuckingham 9m Obvious interest in Matty Fryatt but by no means guaranteed he'll leave on loan today. C'ship clubs can trade again in loans next week.
I think it depends if we actually sign a forward before we let any go. Fryatt will be on hold until we get Gedo and/or Rodallega/Bendtner.
When does the Championship loan window open? I'd guess that way we've got a safety switch until we see if we've scored a striker.....
Just what is going on at Nottingham Forest. A club with owners who have a reported wealth of £1.4 billion but dont like to splash much cash at all. They took Jack Hobbs on loan with a view to sign him next summer(not sure about that even now). Want Fryatt - Sako and Leadbitter but failed to land all 3. Now they want them on loan reports suggest ? Talk about doing it on the cheap. Now it comes to pass that Forest are giving the media hard time. Anyone they dont like or are upset by get banned. Jim Price agent and cousin of manager Billy Davies can carry out chief executive duties with Forest despite Price being probed i9n Scotland for alledged financial irregularities following the collapse of a law firm Price was involved with. Price has not even passed the FL fit and proper owners and directors test. ffs what is going on in robin hood land. ?
Good, they have money but wont be taken for a ride. That's how it should be. Just because they can, doesn't mean they should splash the cash.
The words Danny and Graham spring to mind. We need a striker, Sunlan dont want him, if I was a fan of theirs I'd be asking why we're loaning him out to a direct rival and not insisting on selling?
True and i am all for prudence. However, the Jim Price situation has me smelling a rat. ...and nothing to do with KFC before anyome comments. lol.
Because as soon as we tried to loan him they'd be stupid not to. What if he hits 25 goals by then and gets called up by England? Or if all their strikers snap their cruciates? Are you suggesting they chose to loan him rather than sell him?!? edit - I just thought, is he English?!? I havent got a clue without looking it up.
They wouldn't get much for him if they'd tried to sell. Who would sign a player permanently who hasn't scored in nearly half a season? Loaning was the only way to get him out.
