What, so us getting 89 points in both seasons, which would have been enough for us to win the league in all apart from about three of the last 30 seasons, and I'd wager would be enough for us to win the league this season, was entirely down to City and Chelsea's failings? Come on dave, you might as well argue that Liverpool's first three wins this season was all down to the failure of the opposition to play well. Which it was, but that's another argument entirely Rooney's going to win POTY. And you can qu(o)te me on that
We didn't bottle it a couple of seasons ago Dave. The lightweight squad couldn't cope with injuries and we ran out of steam. That didn't happen last season. The very same lightweight midfield we have now in fact, only now two years older and missing Scholes and Fletcher. Which brings us back to where and why we were **** yesterday.
Ruff, I should say that if I knew where and why it's going wrong I wouldn't tell you - but I won't These are just thoughts and have probably been gone over many times amongst yourselves. It's the balance between your personnel and the way that the side is set up for attack. Giggs is indeed now to old. Cleverly is not a creative midfield player. Jones belongs in the back 4. I know you guys rate Carrick but I still don't. Then you have Young and Nani - neither of which are creative. With the way you set your side up it leaves you 3 attacking options - down either flank or a long OTT down the middle. Bottle your wingers up and you have not got the personnel to real fashion a goal. Right, having said that I'll go back to my board and pontificate on what we should do. In all honesty its far far too soon to panic. Look again after 10 games and we may have a better idea.
Dominated yesterday without doing anything. If we had some creative quality we would of won. Liverpool looked poor, 11 behind the ball all second half. Still fair play on the win, to be expected tbh.
Dominated at times but I wouldn't say throughout the match. We didn't look poor either there were some good performances from our players.
At this point of the season that 120 mins may have helped over the first 60 mins but you are right that stamina may have been a problem towards the end but Rodgers made subs at the right times. I think you lot should use Nani and Hernandez more often and play Valencia at full back until Rafael is fit. You have a similar situation to us Kelly/Jones are both center backs and get injured at right back as it's not their natural position. If I was to pick a Utd team at the moment it would be --------DeGea Rafael Jones Vidic Evra Valencia Carrick Rooney Nani -----Hernandez RVP
We were just **** poor yesterday. We disn't deserve anyhting and we got f**k all. The players just didn't turn up. Sloppy, no passion and no urgency even when we were 1 down. DM is going to have to get his finger out and act otherwise we will get f**k all from this campaign. As for the scousers, for the first time in years they were better than us (not difficult as we were so piss poor) and deserved to get the 3 points. Still I cannot see them getting anything better than a 4th place if they are lucky... if Sturridge gets injured they are ****ed
never seen liverpool stick 11 center backs on the pitch at once until you came out for the second half yesterday.
Christian - your ****ed NOW! I assure you we can get 4th place but without serious improvement your team will be lucky to make 6th.
can. it should of been 0-0. Thats how good each side were in attack. Ashley Young should never ever ever be allowed onto a football pitch. Nor should Giggs. Gut wrenching seeing him in the starting 11.
Your side lost. Your own supporters mostly agree that you were not very good. So you are the side that have the problems. You couldn't beat us. You couldn't beat Chelsea and your 5 points behind us already. So face reality it's NOW that you've got the problem. It only takes a little common sense to see that.
